Re: Urban Assault Cadre. Explosives and Infantry

Okay. Been a long time since I posted on ATT. Life, school, and my new marines (which can be seen on my Deviantart for those that can find it) have kept me from getting anything done on my Tau. On the other hand I have a mini that as of yet has never been seen by others outside of my gaming group. S...

Re: You know you play too much Warhammer when you...

When someone mentions tattoos and you say the idea for one you'd get is based off of your Space Marine army or your Tau army.

When you now want to order a T-shirt after reading the last two posts.

Re: Fire Warrior team for markerlight

I'll add my two cents here since I play with ML equipped FW squads. I Find the extra points are well worth. If for some reason you have a carbine squad with a ML do not take the multi-tracker, its just not worth it. Also I run three squads of 9 with the bells and whistles so my pathfinders don't hav...

Re: Knights Templar SM Chapter

All righty folks, I finally got some more done. My order still isn't in but hopefully it will be soon. Anyway I know why you guys are looking at this post anyway. So here goes. http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/265/e/e/1st_heavy_bolter_by_firestorm_delta-d2za99q.jpg This is my first heavy bolte...

Re: Knights Templar SM Chapter

It's been kinda crazy here in my end what with college and all, so I haven't had much time to paint. My Tau have officially taken a back seat to my Marines. I have however been getting back into my painting mood and I have already finished a brand new Assault Termie. By the end of the week I should ...

Re: New Tau Codex Rumors

Maybe it's just me but to me the "dumbing down" of the markerlight system might actually be a bit of a blessing. Note that the Crisis Systems work a bit differently than before so it may be easier to get that +1 BS, and thats assuming they even have the same stat line as now. There is just...

Re: New Tau Codex Rumors

I have a feeling the rumors will be like the fifth ed rules. Half of the rumors didn't even make it in the book, but a bunch of other stuff did. I'll wait till I hold the new book in my hand before I believe any of the rules in it.

Re: Kroot Armor

Okay, despite the fact that many have already given their 2 cents I'll give mine. My opinion on armor for kroot: To me armor on kroot is like photons on FW squads, unless I absolutely need that unit to have every chance of surviving whatever it is they are doing, I don't bother. I can't remember the...

Re: How to Assist New/Inexperienced Tau Players?

I personally would agree with the list as long as it was basic. It must be something most people could easily deploy and get. So nothing real fancy. That or make a base list and show a couple variations that achieve the same thing but using different units and showing how other options can add to yo...

Re: Mu'kau's Urban Tau Cadre (Image heavy)

Hmmm... This scheme idea seems very familiar... But about 100 times better than what I did. Great job I must say, nice and even, its blends without turning into a clash of camo. I really can't say much more right now, kinda still trying to believe you did all that free hand. (and so well!) Keep up t...

Re: Knights Templar SM Chapter

Unfortunately I'll be off to college sometime relatively soon. So before I go I decided to try and get some more models at least built for my Knights Templar since I don't know when the next time I'll be able to work on them is. So without further ado here is whats been done. http://fc07.deviantart....

Re: How to Assist New/Inexperienced Tau Players?

I will say you asked this question at the right time. There was a new Tau player at my old gaming place that had to proxy most of his army. He had a fairly good grasp of what to do with units and what not, but I gave him ideas. Thats usually what I try to do, I give people ideas and suggestions to t...

Re: Bipedal vs. Quadrupedal Walkers

I had a whole rant of how Tau technology would easilly make a feasible tank sized walker if they could be bothered with it, but then we had to get back on track... I know, but there's no point arguing. Peregrine won't convert to the mech side, as is his right. His tanks obviously do better th...

Re: Bipedal vs. Quadrupedal Walkers

Enough with the tanks Peregrine. We get it you hate walkers. Now can you please discuss the actual topic?

No one says you have to post here. Since we are finally back on topic why don't you stick to it. Tanks have nothing to do with this topic.

Re: Bipedal vs. Quadrupedal Walkers

Not entirely. Look at a horse, it has four legs, as does a lizard. Yet they don't move alike at all. Nor do their legs have the same uses, Lizards have traction, while horses have speed. (The horse also puts more pressure on the ground than an Abrams tank but thats besides the point) Meanwhile a two...

Re: Bipedal vs. Quadrupedal Walkers

Well I was beaten I guess. I'll save my next set of statements for a later day. (probably never) Actually I think we need to get away from tanks in general since this topic has nothing to do with them. Its about 2 or 4 legs. So here is one thing to keep in mind when thinking about "Ground Press...

Re: Bipedal vs. Quadrupedal Walkers

1) We're back to the ground pressure issue then. Congratulations, you stepped through the rubble. Too bad you also smashed through into the sewer underneath that rubble, and your walker just fell over and exploded. You've said that a lot, but what makes you think a walker is just going to fall thro...
