Cadre Details: Nevel's Last Hope is an Imperial world with a small human population and growing kroot population. The landmass is more than 80% of the planets surface and more than 80% of that is swamp and moors. The swamp consists of cypress type trees and several other exotic hardwoods. These trees often stretch several hundred meters in the air and have huge, thick canopies, making the swamp below almost perpetual twilight during the day and pitch black at night. The planet was on the edge of Imperial space and was contacted by the water caste and trade began. The planet was attacked by pirates and sent for aid from the Imperium, which never came as they had more important things to do besides rescue some backwater planet whose only real export was exotic timber. The tau on the other hand saw opportunity and sent a naval flotilla to help. The pirates were destroyed and the population decided to side with the tau empire. A kroot sphere crash landed after the Tau took over and the surviving crew and warriors liked the environment so much many of them decided to stay and set up a settlement. While they make the humans nervous at times, the humans enjoy the extra security the kroot provide in times of need and there is constant trade between each others' settlements.
The 76th came about as straight open warfare in the swamps was next to impossible and more stealthy covert actions were more efficient. They became known during Shas'O R'Myr's Taros defense as superb spotters and close quarter fighters, leaving the long range tank duels to cadres more suited for the task. In several one sided battles armored columns were savaged by seeker missiles fired from the other side of ridgelines aimed by unrevealed spotters hidden in the rocks. The sneaky nature of the 76th had Shas'O R'Myr calling the 76th his eyes and ears on the ground and extensively used them for this function on this and in several other campaigns.

Kor'T'Suam (Blazing Air Sept World)

Minor sept world in Sa'cea region of the First Sphere Territories. The landmasses are split into two main continents centred on the magnetic poles. The equatorial sea is a highly toxic cocktail of corrosive acids and dissolved rare metal salts. Both continents are covered in highly inhospitable iron oxide deserts with many rocks containing iridium and titanium ores. Constant dust storms make exposure to the atmosphere highly dangerous without protection and gave the world its name (Blazing air refers to the bright red colour of the dust storms due to the iron oxide). The enormous quantities of valuable metals found on Kor'T'Suam led to colonisation by the Tau Empire soon after the founding of the major sept of Sa'cea. Most of the inhabitants live in caves hollowed from the desert rock by generations of Fio engineers. There is a constant small Fire Caste presence to deal with occasional ork and human incursions into the system. In recent times most of the sept's hunter cadres have been called up to engage a large Hive Fleet Kraken splinter fleet that has entered the sub-sector.

Commander Stormseer prefers the teachings of the Mont'ka [the killing blow]. On the battlefield, El'Yoroi quickly identifys the most dangerous target and counter it with the most suited weapons which he has on hands. The 3 rd D'ynoi Farstrike Cadre is a fast and hidden moving army. The lack of battle tanks, like the TX78 Hammerhead, is compensated by the pilots of the TX4 Piranha and the XV8 Crisis suit, which are often equipped with short range armour piercing weapons [i.e. Fusionblasters, Missile Pots and Plasamrifles]. According to reports, these pilots always cross the battlefield quickly and determined to engage a specific target. After the attack, they fall back to regroup and to identify a new target.
TX6 Devilfish ani-grav troop carriers ensure a fast transport of the FireWarriors, that are the backbone of every Tau army. TX77 Sky Ray Missile Defense Gunships provide the Farstrike Cadre with long-range firepower, which will be guided by the marker light of Pathfinder and stealth suit units. This scout units have been immobile in position for many days to lay ambushes and explore the battlefield. Due to its long-range, the Sky Rays will always be deployed far away from the battlefield, and since it has the ability to defend itself against hostile aircrafts, it is very hard to engage them in time.
