Taki117: Oh no worries man, you don't need to sell it at all, it was just food for thought. Also consider the wide range of battle sizes that will force both new and old players to rethink strategies to make up for a point deficit or handle two opposing armies instead of a single foe. While each 'army' is limited to a max of 2000pts, if three or four players all attack into the same region, they will all fight in the same battle.

Aun Tier: Necrons are always cool, and with the new codex are pretty powerful also.

To All: I think there will have to be roll offs for Tau Cadre slots =P. Basically if we can get two Imperial or Renegade players we can support two Tau players. The 'aligned' forces like Imperials and Renegades and Tau will be organized into teams, so I have to keep them as even as possible.

How quick are we talking here? Normal quick or 40k quick? I may be able to participate, no promises because of exams, but vassal is also giving me some trouble. Oh, and I would be more than happy to play as the Guard

space pope II: A battle of 40k on VASSAL lasts about as long as a real game until you have gotten used to the controls. Once you have done that it can move a bit faster. Since you only have to fight one battle or so a week it shouldn't be too taxing on your time.

Unless you mean something else?

Oh well, looks like I'm going to have to miss this one then. :( I can't afford that sort of time for about a month with exams and all the accompanying revision. Still, there's always next time! :)

Ok so the weekend is upon us and I need to make final prep for Sunday. What I have so far is:

Nevar --- Imperial Forces
Kakapo42 --- Unknown
TauDau --- Tau
Aun Tier --- Necron
Taki117 --- Tau
im2randomghgh --- Tau

This becomes a problem of sorts. We have three Tau players, and only two OpForces right now. I was considering a way to run with it which would balance the power out, and that was to have the Tau players share territories and incomes. Would make all three Tau players weaker on their own, but together more than a match for any other single opponent. This works, however I ran into a different problem. If the three Tau players all attack say... Aun Tier, even if all the battles are equal in points, that still would require Aun Tier to play three separate battles in a single week. And then if the imperials or Kakapo42 also invaded Necron territory... he would be looking at five battles in one week where everyone else would be playing one. With more evenly spread teams the risk of such a circumstance is a great deal lower.

So, basically we need a volunteer from the 'Tau' side to change armies, OR someone else to join the campaign as something other than Tau. I will play two 'armies' for the Imperials to relieve some of the deficit but we still need shift of teams away from the Tau. I know this is Advanced Tau Tactica, but you learn a great deal about the Tau playing against them too.

Kakapo42: Are you interested in playing? And if so what forces would you represent?

I wont be able to take part myself, but would it be possible to have a few games posted as battle reports on ATT? I'd be really interested to see how the tournament goes.

I'd be interested in playing, and I could play as Orks, Loyalist Nilla Marines, Renegades and Heretics IA V update, or a Farsight Enclave force, take your 'pick.' If you want me, I'll join up.

AegisFate: You are more than welcome to join up. Just choose a force, though we have too many Tau already, and I am not sure if the IA Heretics can be used since the 40k module does not support them. Orks can serve well, or if you want to play Renegade Guard using normal guard rules that would work also. Really it's up to you just let me know and I can 'deal you in'.

IA V Renegades and Heretics are not supported via models, but I've found success in the past using the steel legion models to represent traitors, so models isn't a problem, and I have an itching to play around with my theoretical list with too many tanks........

AegisFate: Righto, I have gone over the Renegades rules and I see no reason not to allow them. I will add your forces to the map and send you your initial incomes and starting info.

I am very interested to get involved with this; every bit of experience in 40k is good in my eyes.

I have had a recent eye opening series of games against a very tactical Ork player, in which I failed miserably on every account. Thus I am interested in playing Orks in this Campaign if possible? Though also if possible some Tau battles would be good to up my experience with them (I only have 10 games under my belt so far)

I am currently at work, though will take a look at VASSAL to get my head round it. Looking forward to being part of this if you will have me.

Taudau: You should have received a PM with your initial information. The campaign is 'kicked off' just waiting on responses from the Tau players atm. =P

Kiblams: An ork player would be awesome. If you are ready I can send you your initial information and get you started?

Okay great, I have an idea of the list that I will be playing and have the codex ready to go.

Might be worth letting my prospective opponents know that I am a relative newbie to 5th edition 40k and Vassal, so a good level of patience may be required

Hey is it too late to join now? If not I'd like to take part, as Sisters of Battle if thats cool.

I've played a few games on vassal so I've got a 2000pt army set up ready and would be fine helping any of the guys that arn't familiar with the program get used to it.

Kiblams: Alright, expect your entrance 'packet' shortly.

Zilcho: Finally an Imperial Player =D. Expect an entry packet shortly.

Cr'shu: Maybe is just yes waiting to be loved. If you decide for sure let me know, this campaign supports hot drop ins, so anyone who wants to join can do so any time during the campaign. Also remember there are two ways to play. Standard 40k battle sized forces, or mercenary/corsair raiders. Corsair forces play in a fashion akin to Kill Team with only a few models, and the games are generally shorter.

Taki117: I am unsure of the presence of your fellow Tau players at the moment. I know TauDau responded in the thread not so long ago. Luckily the Tau have little pressure on them right now so any confusion can be figured out. Worse case scenario they drop out and you gain their forces.

Other Tau Players: Are you both receiving the PM's sent your way? Are you still interested in participating. Thanks for a quick response. :fear:

Ack, kind of hard to see PM's arriving when you're not logged in

Alright, lets get going then :crafty:
