How did you get into wargaming?
Back in the day, I used to collect almost every card game available. At the hobby store I did most of my collecting, they sold Games Workshop products. One day, I had a discussion with a random customer about the models and he made a good sales pitch, so I stated collecting. That was back in 2003. I've been collecting Warhammer 40k models since and its now my main hobby.
How did you get into Tau?
In the first box set I bought (Which was a Carnifex), it came with the booklet that showed all the 40k armies. I was drawn in to Tau by the Hammerhead. It was just so beautiful. So, in 2004, I switched from Tyranids to Tau, and it has become my largest army that I collect at roughly 4,000 pts.
What would be your second piece of advice (after "read the freakin' rules") to a new Tau player?
It can not be overstated enough that Tau do NOT do well in close combat. They should always remain a respectable distance from their enemy.
What is your Tau colour scheme?
Something like this:

The Armour is Dark Angels green with a Thraka Green wash, and cloth is Snakebite Leather with an Ogryn Flash wash . The Cadre Colour is Blood Red with a Baal Red wash and all lenses and screens are Lightning Blue (which is no longer made). The mechanised units are boltgun metal undercoat with several layers of Thraka Green wash and then a layer of 'Ardcoat to give it a shinny dark green metal look. The Kroot are Camo Green with a Thraka Green wash for texture, and the Vespid are Chaos Black and Sunburst Yellow with a layer of 'Ardcoat to resemble wasps.
I've made a tutorial on how to do metal with colour like that of the Covenent in Halo. Just click
here.

How did you find this site/the old site, and how long have you been a member?
I found this site through google while searching for different ways to model battlesuits, I just became a member and I've been creeping this site for almost 3 years since I found it.
What are the origins of your ATT username?
It is my name for internet and gaming forums. It started as just Ziggy, but became Czar Ziggy after I started playing empire games where I got to chosse my title as a ruler.
Have you reviewed the ATT Primers?
I have read them a couple of times over the past few years.
Where and how often to you usually play?
If I'm lucky, I get one game a year at my friends place during the summer. Its usually a 4 person match. Otherwise, I play myself pitting two of my armies against each other to test my units strengths and weaknesses.
Do you have any other armies, for 40K or another system?
I currently have 4 armies. In order of start dates; Tyranid, Tau, Necron, Space Marine.
You can see some of my enemy forces
here.
What is your favourite and least favourite army to play against?
My favourite would have to be Orks because I've had success clearing them off a board, my last would have to be SM or Necrons.
What is your best and worst 40K moment?
My best moment would have to be my openning shot from my Hammerhead causing an explosions in my enemies Devilfish. (It was a wierd game). My worst is a toss up between my Battlesuit Command team assulting a Guard command squad and getting wipe-out or my Elite battlesuit team suffering one loss and the other two suits retreating 3 D6 and rolling all 6's, so the fled 18' right off the board.
What does/do your family/significant other/friends think about your 'funny toys'?
They are usually my modeling critics. They are genuinly amused by this hobby. My girlfriend is very supportive and doesn't mind getting me them as gifts. Most people think that when I say "I model" as a hobby, that people take pictures of me. Then I explain that I just paint models.
What are some of you other interests?
I'm a trombonist playing semi-professionally for the past 8 years as a bass trombonist in a big band. I also enjoy video gaming. I'm also I giant scifi nut. Most of my army inspirations come from other comparable scifi franshises. Tau are the Covenent (Halo), my Nids paint style is from Tron. My Necrons are based off of the Geth in Mass Effect. I haven't actaully based my Space Marines off anything, except the colours that I haven't seen in other Space Marine Armies.
Do you have any pets?
No, I have no pets. I once had sharks, but they sadly perished.
What is your favourite band?
I don't have a favourite, but I do enjoy generally up-beat and happy feeling music, generally Big Band swing or 70's 80's and 90's pop.
Whats the fluff behind your army?
Currently, the story goes that my cadre is the last line of defence for TASH'VAR. They don't have the traditional camo style uniforms because of their relative distance from the front lines of the Tau Empire, and are viewed in more of a cerimonial role. Despite poor experiences with other races, the TASH'VAR cadre has made a small agreement with a group of Tau Cultist fleeing the Imperium and allowed them to setle on a small moon in their system. In return for sanctuary, the human settlement must provide troops and equipment when it is asked of them. Ths has allowed for a sub cadre for just the Gue'vesa. When they can, the hunter cadre provides small amounts of Imperium equipment for them to salvage and use. As other cadres, the TASH'VAR cadre has its contingents of Kroot and Vespid like any other settled world in the empire.
