Seeing as this is my proper introduction to the site, I thought I'd make this post convenient and follow the new users template

My name is Daniel

I'm a nearly adult male, aged 71

right now I live in the United States, in the state of California

I don't have a job, I planned to get one over the summer but that didn't work out

I got into wargaming through my dad, he got into the hobby sometime when he got out of high school, and got me into it at a young age

I not only got into Tau, I chose them as my first army simply because of how cool the models look.

My advice to all Tau players, is to stay FAR AWAY from the enemy

I use the T'au sept scheme, because I think it looks good, and I have a lot of modeling sand so a desert scheme fits

I found this site as I was searching for ideas and inspiration for Tau conversions.

I took my username from a character out of Armored Core, I'm a big fan...

I usually play at the LA battle Bunker a couple times a month

I'm working on an Imperial Guard army, along with my tau

So far I have only played against space marines and orks, and I've had more fun against orks than marines

my best moment in 40k, when I had a firewarrior kill a terminator in close combat. My worst moment, when that same brave firewarrior got smashed into pulp by another terminator

My dad supports my hobby, I have a couple friends interested in it as well, and my family does appreciate the "painting" aspect in what I do

Some other interests of mine include video games, reading, and other general science fiction related things

as for pets, I have 4 cats and a dog

My favorite bands are AC/DC, The Smiths, Danzig, and Project Pitchfork

You're 71 years old and your dad wargames with you? That's impressive. My dad is only 50 and he has nothing nice to say about my hobby.

I think that was a typo and he meant to say 17, judging by the phrase "nearly adult," and the fact that he was looking for a summer job (I happen to be 17 and tried the same thing...). 71-year-olds are usually considered adults .

In any case, it's still cool that you play with your dad. It sounds like a father/son connection over wargaming is pretty common. I'm envious.

As am I, my dad can't because of his work.
