How did you get into wargaming? My friends were talking to be about it so I thought I'd give it a shot.

How did you get into Tau?
In any game I play, mmorpg's, D&D, fps's, strategy, in which I have an opponent I have to take out, I like to go about my business from ranged wearing the heaviest armor I can find - kinda like wearing a bomb suit toting a howitzer on rapid fire. The Tau just fit.

What would be your second piece of advice (after "read the freakin' rules") to a new Tau player?
Read and understand everyone else's rules(codices) till you understand your opponents codex better than they do. Better to be prepared than getting caught with your pants around your ankles. I advise going to your local gaming store with a packed lunch, asking for a shop copy of every 40k codex and prepare yourself for an enjoyable read. "Knowledge is power, guard it well"...wait... what?

tau static gun line builds; orcs
What is your best and worst 40K moment?
Bottom of turn 5, my lone pathfinder makes his morale check after his unit fails close combat and now has 3 hellions on him. Behind the hellions my Shas'O with one wound left and his body guard charges Astrubael Vect, who also only has one wound, into close combat. Vect attacks first, wound allocations, my Shas'O fails his only save triggering his self destruct sequence. The O's bodyguards fall back before the detonation. Vect fails to save himself from resulting explosion which also kills the 3 hellions staring down my lone pathfinder. In the aftermath both I and my opponent are awe struck and my surviving pathfinder now has brown streak permanently painted running down the inside of his left leg as a badge of courage.
