Hello everyone, My name is Cas'val Dei'kun and ive been playing Tau for about a year now and my army has finaly passed the thousand point mark. Distractions caused by my other 40K army, my space marines the Star Dragons, have slowed down my progress for the greater good but lately I've felt the need to get back to my tau with enthusiasm. I've been lurking on these forums for a while now but now that I'm getting serious with my Tau i thought it was about time i start being an active member for the greater good. :)

My current army is just getting off the ground and definatly needs some sort of direction

Thunderblade-6 Shas'o w multi tracker=118
2 fireknife-7 Shas'vre w multi trackers=156

2 12 man fire warrior teams w Shas'ui, markerlight, bonding knife and target lock=300

8 man pathfinder team= 96
pathfinder fish w disruption pods and multi tracker=95

drone team of 8=96

hammerhead w sms, mt, and dpods=175

total=1036

this army has just gotten off the ground and i wouldnt mind advice on where to go, my two common opponants are green tide orks and mechanized necron infantry, with the mandatory monolyth

i was thinking of going for soem broadsides and pirannahs for the necrons and orks respectively but more experienced advice is welcome.

for the greater good :nice:

Welcome!

Generally, the posting of army lists is shunned here on ATT, however just this once I'll give you some advice!

Gun drone squadrons are generally ill advised for standard lists, though you can see their full unit analysis here

If you're facing hordes, you'll want more shots than is offered by the fireknife suits, and you'll want more of them. Tactica Here

You may want to consider dropping your FW units down to six men with no upgrades (since FW markerlight is heavy weapon and not networked) And give them a devilfish w/disruption pod.

Broadsides and piranhas would be a good idea.

Other than that, if you are looking for list advice, this is most probably not the site for you, I would recommend dakkadakka, as ATT is more for the academic discussion of the tau army.
