Greetings, ATT. Though i`m just a starting Tau commander, I hope to become a useful member of community with time.
Real first name: Anton Pavlov
Age and gender: 23, male
Location: Russia, Mytischi (Moscow province)
Occupation: Police officer, investigator.
How did you get into wargaming? Warhammer 40k is going to be my first experience in Wargaming. Frankly say, i`m more interested in modelling/painting part of it, since have a long story for creating stuff with my own hands - started with modelling clay, continued with carving up Battletech mechs of wood, and now eagier to assemble neat and unique-looking Tau cadre. Though i`m still looking forward to prove it worthly on battlefield too.
How did you get into Tau? There are 2 things which i love in Tau most of all: -Their advanced technology and proficiency with it (i hate techpriests). Not to mention that it also rather nicely looking technology =) -Their acceptance of other species. I understand Imperium goal for human dominance (which is actually same as Tau goal of binding everyone to Greater Good), but genocide of all other sentient alien lifeforms is not an option.
What would be your second piece of advice (after "read the freakin' rules") to a new Tau player? Well, since i don't yet have experience with Tau on battlefield, my advice is actually rather universal: Never surrender, don't let fails to bring you down - every defeat reveals us our flaws, giving a chance to improve, and everyone better that us is just another pinnacle to reach and overtake.
What is your Tau colour scheme? Truth to be told, it`s still can change, but for now i stick to desert yellow as main color (want to stay close to iconical Tau appearance), black as secondary color, with few bits of metallic (mainly on battlesuits).
How did you find this site/the old site, and how long have you been a member? I found it while was searching Web for Tau tactics, reading of which was part of my preliminary information basis before making decision to get into Warhammer 40K.
What are the origins of your ATT username? It`s actually a name of a book character (one of modern russian autor fantasy, i guess name wouldn`t ring anything for you). I took it as my universal nickname, since it quite rare in Internet, and being Unique means a lot for me, and yet more like nickname than a natural name.
Have you reviewed the ATT Member Primers? Yes, i did.
Where and how often do you usually play? Well, i havent yet played at all =) But i guess it will be one of Warhammer clubs in Moscow, until i get lucky to find Warhammer players in my town.
Do you have any other armies, for 40K or another system? No, i do not. And actaully not going to - i`m quite a single-lover, find my best and stick to it forever =)
What is your favourite and least favourite army to play against? Well, i definitly lack combat experience to answer this question. I bet answers based on DoW doesnt count? =)
What is your best and worst 40K moment? Heh, since i`m just starting, i didnt get much 40K moments, but i guess i can call worst so far is my first painting experience, when everything didnt go so nicely as i expected.
What does/do your family/significant other/friends think about your 'funny toys'? They don't know much about it - since i`m just starting, it`s not yet like "half of room stacked with models at diffirent stages of WIP, with table covered with paint all over" =)
What are some of you other interests? Reading (fictional books, though considering how many garbage in this genre, i`m rather picky), Computer gaming (prefer strategies and RPG), weekly billiard (pool) game with best friend in bar, elso I enjoy learning about other fictional universes (My favorites are Battletech, StarCraft, Forgotten Realms),
Do you have any pets? A cat, name`s Sid (my brother named him after Sid Vicious).
What is your favourite band? Finnish band Poets Of The Fall, and Blind Guardian.
