Real first name: Matthew.
Age and gender: -, Male.
Location: England.
Occupation: Student.
How did you get into wargaming? I started off with historical wargaming(as I like history), then I wandered into a GW and they used
their sales skills with great effect.
How did you get into Tau? I was looking through the catalouge and the Tau seemded to be the only army which was visually appealing(aka without skulls).
What would be your second piece of advice (after "read the freakin' rules") to a new Tau player? "I live by three tenents of war. Firepower, Firepower and more Firepower." Chapter Master of the Iron Hands, if I am not mistaken.
What is your Tau colour scheme? I am currently repainting from a black armour brown fatigues to a more traditional T'au sept colour.
How did you find this site/the old site, and how long have you been a member? I was looking for inspiration on a new type of Tau Auxila, and stumbled upon Wolfs16 Vespid count-as Gue'vesa. I have just joined the site.
What are the origins of your ATT username? I was frantically searching the Tau Lexicon for name ideas when I saw Y'eldi, or swift wings. I tried that, but somebody had already taken it, so I added Shi, or victory, on the end.
Have you reviewed the ATT Member Primers? Yes I have. Multiple times in fact.
Where and how often do you usually play? I usually play at the schools Warhammer club, as the Local Games Workshop is quite far away. To answer the second part of the question, I play small, 500 point battles every week or so, and once every couple of months, the club throws a huge Apoc game, where I can field my whole army.
Do you have any other armies, for 40K or another system? I have a large number of neglected High Elves and Lord of the Rings. The result of my brief foray into Space Marines is now in a dusty box under bed.
What is your favourite and least favourite army to play against? I love playing against Guard, because they are very squishy, and I have a lot of experience fighting them. My least favourite army is either Necrons (because they keeep getting back-up) or Marines of any stripe (because they won't go down in the first place).
What is your best and worst 40K moment? My best moment was when my Crisis Shas'el took out two Thunder Wolf riders in
close combat. My worst moment was when an Emperor Titan went super-critical (having 3 fleeing fire warriors left on the board is not fun)
What does/do your family/significant other/friends think about your 'funny toys'? They mostly either like the painting, play it themselves, or have no real feelings about it.
What are some of you other interests?
History, designing weaponry and... BOOKS!
Do you have any pets? One cat. I did have two chickens but they died
What is your favourite band? I don't really have one.
