While cleaning my hobby room I came across a fusion blaster. I went to put it back in my bitz box when I got an idea for a railgun conversion. I have wanted to add some broadsides to my army but am not a fan of the big clunky metal railguns. So I started cutting up some other parts I had and here is what I came up with.

I used a fusion blaster, burst cannon drum, flamer tank, crisis suit head antenna and styrene strips for the details.

*Edit*
the tutorial is complete. here is the link, go check it out.

Ok seriously? This is soooooo much cooler looking than normal 88 railguns.... You have inspired me to pull out the spare fusions and BCs to try this out. Great job.

Well, now you owe it to me to put up a step-by-step walkthrough of how you made it...

Really good job, consider it 'stolen' ;). I would second SpartanTau's request for a quick tutorial, and I would also be interested to see how toy plan to mount them on a suit (will they be horizontal, vertical, or on the arms?).

Now all I need is another two fusion blasters...

Thanks everyone.

They will be mounted on the arms. I like the look of them on the arms rather than the back, but I could make them mount either way.

I still want to make two more for a second broadside, so I can do a tutorial while making the next pair. again, thanks for the comments.

It would be very good to have that tutorial, jerseydevil, as Broadside models are starting to get ridiculously expensive and if we can effectively make them for the price of a Crisis suit then that's a win-win all round!

We await your "how to build a sawn-off railgun" with anticipation.

Thanks, you should not have to wait long for the tutorial. I started assembling and taking pictures of the railgun last night. My hope is to have it completed by the end of the week.

That's a beautifully elegant solution for the metal railguns. They look great! Looking forward to the tutorial.

As the tutorial is now up and available for all to see, I will lock this thread.
