Shi'ur,

Excellent work! I love the attention to detail.

Question: For the latest bunker, did you use a cardboard concrete forming tube for the interior wall?

I've been wanting to make a Tau symbol dice rolling tray and I think a modified version of what you have here would work perfectly. Thanks!

It's esentially the same thing... a 6" diameter sauna tube. The wall thickness is no more than 1/8", or it would've been a nightmare to try and cut it. :?

Intersting idea you have, a Tau symbol die rolling tray. I've made die rolling trays in the past, but never a circular one. I'll post a picture of mine later as security protocols on my work computer prevent me from seeing/accessing photobucket.

**edit**

Here's the die rolling tray that I mentioned earlier. I have sections for storing my dice, round counter ( the uber sized die ) and scatter dice.

The bottom is a piece of hardboard, the sides are made from foamcore that's been topped with thin cereal box card... I also covered the outside with the thin card as well, for added protection.

Very, very nice!

You've got my cogs turning on building a sectioned circular tray now.

I would think floral foam rings with hardboard bottoms could work too if wrapped in cereal box. hmmm... :crafty:

At long last, the day has almost arrived... I'm almost finished painting my Tau outpost!!!!! :D

I still have to paint the remaining two generators, the new hatches on the watchtowers, and then I'll be able to weather and base them. My goal is to have them completed by Friday afternoon, just in time for Game Summit 2011!

I'll leave you with some pictures of my current progress. :crafty:

I have to say, the quality of craftsmanship is top notch, and in many cases, much better than anything you can buy. You have certainly given me ideas for some terrain of my own, but I just do not have the tools to do anything as grand as this right now.

I very much look forward to more.

My thanks for all the kind words. :)

I can happily state that I'm almost finished painting the final two power generators that are attached to the bunkers, and I'm currently waiting for the glue to dry so that I can ink-wash the bases to seal the sand I just added in place... then it'll be a quick dry-brush with bleached bone to bring up the detail. ;)

Gorgeous work man, I can only reiterate previous comments on the pieces said so far. I've already archived several images for future reference. Additionally, ensured this thread is part of the ATT Modelling guide so others don't miss it in future.

Thanks for posting your work here :)

- Tael.

I'm glad that others enjoy seeing my creations, and this is one of my favorite places to share.

I'd also like to convey just how honoured I am that my humble work has been chosen/added to the ATT Modelling guide. :)

I will endeavor to add fully weathered pictures of the pieces as quickly as I can. I had to cut a corner or two to finish up the terrain in time for Game Summit, which was this past weekend, so I didn't get around to finishing them properly with weathering and additional small details. Rest assured, that I've by no means shelved these pieces as I have in the past, and am itching to get them finished. I've got some new projects coming up, which will hopefully include a Tau research station ala Space Hulk, but more on that later. ;)

Now that sounds interesting. I recently saw a superbly executed Ground Zero Games research station scenario table, using their smaller miniature line (15mm?).

Would be great for the experimental hardware to run amok and the brave shas'la rush in to 'clean up' etc

Meanwhile, await the final pieces, finished to your satisfaction :)

- Tael.
