Hello
Gunship
Very dramatic change in the hammerheads profile but it works, more maneuverable and agressive looking than the tank-style original. One thing I'm not sure about is the position of the engines, the way they overlap the front 'fins' looks a bit odd, as if it could foul on the bodywork, and this, to my mind, gives the model a slightly cramped feel to it. I would consider moving the engines further back on the body, or remodelling the engines themselves, taking a section out of the middle to shorten them somewhat so they look more turbo-fannish (like the hunter-killers in terminator, I guess).
The back could do with a little filler
Commander suit
I must admit the lack of waist was not something that had occurred to me in my musings on crisis suits Still. it's an excellent little innovation; one of the challenges with suits is to make them look like they're directly piloted by living beings, and your model definitly does that, it's pretty sweet. Also I like the head.
Broadside
Have seen those wriath bits used a lot on suits, but I like the fact that you've taken time to re-work the backpack, it looks good. The knees need something, possibly a pad, fixed to the lower half of the leg like the forgeworld XV89. I think you need a few more missiles for the SMS, if you can find a way of fitting more pods on the back mount that finish the models off nicely.
Crisis suit
Personally, I'm not a fan of the combi-weapon style arm mount, to me it seems more orkish or imperial, too inelegant to be tau. It also makes the right hand side of the model seem to heavy, I would consider moving the missile pod to the other shoulder to balance it more visually.
Hope thats the kind of thing you wanted. Keep up the good work

That is what I was looking for, I have considered with the next incarnation of the hammerhead mounting the engines higher and rear more, and bossibly having ducted engines on the lower rear, which would allow me (visually) to reduce the engine size.
the arm on the crisis suit if so large I admit,
I made it to give a twin linked weapons setup, the whole rig is magnetic,
The weapon mount comes off, and the wepaons themsleves to as well,
I used the ends of fusion blasters and burst cannons, so I used this as a way to not "Lose" the weapons.
But I do agree with the heavy look,
Thats why I used the shield generator bit to try and balance a little bit.
but I still have to work on it.

I really like the Broadside. I've never really liked those Necron bits on the shoulders, but you really make it work with this one. Also, the posing is awesome. I almost can see the Thunderbolt appearing on the flank, flying in on the horizon, and this guy stopping his advance with a "Awww, crap..." before he bears those big guns on it's nose.

Thats some good converting and scratchbuilding throughout the group. I feel you may need to balance out the unpainted suit with such a 'heavy' visually speaking, weapon on the rightside..not necessarily something huge, but providing a visual balance to the model.
The Devilfish conversion is full on, you shrank the chassis, yet it still looks intimidating.
Overall I particularly like the leg positioning you have done for the suits.
The reapir drone is nifty, I like the attachment at the rear, has given me an idea for something completely unrelated on another model of mine.

This is a modification on my crisis suit, with using spare parts to make a broadside,
I think it needs a little work but overall it feels solid,
Opinions please.
As you can see he can stop being a broadside on demand :-)

Did you make the broadside railguns form the hammerhead railgun? that's some slick use of parts

Thanks :-)
And yes I did, I hacked it down the middle and used X shaped coffee stirrers
(I ran out of plascard) to cover the gap on the bottom, (Thats the Red)
Glad you like it, saves me $15-20 :-) (figuring cost of drones)

Good work on the broadside, I'm really liking the way the guns are going, almost ion cannon looking, very interesting.
Forgot to mention the drone earlier, again its really nice, but I would loose the random pipe/hose thing. If you sort of think yourself down to scale with the model, something that big coming off at such an angle would seem a bit wierd. Its just that though, overall its a cool model, good to look at.

Well when I saw this piece I was like WOW,
and I said "I know I have one of those land raider pieces around here somewhere"
So I hunted and hunted, to no avail,
Then when I was rooting around months later,
I found it, Last night even, So Out came the saw, clippers, dremel, and the chainsaw.
Well maybe not the chainsaw...... This Time :-)
And I started working on this
I know its rough, and the image sucks a bit, but...
More to come :-)

I'd first like to say that I like all the conversions in the thread, but my main "talking point" will be on the last addition.
It looks cool.
The legs draw attention to my eye, how about some more angles?
Are you doing the exact same thing as Tael for the piece on the chest or do you have other plans?
With more angles come more comments,
HM

I have not decided on how much I will change it, I think a lot of the changes will be because of parts shortages :-)
Neccesity is the mother of invention, Or something like that

You've learned well!
The first thing I do after buying a box, is cut everything in half!

This is a group shot of some of my conversions,
The humans on the lower right are my version of pathfinders, for 3 reasons,
1: Im cheap
2: I had them,
3: Humans should better gear then lasguns
This is my newest commander, or just lone guy,
I know he looks like he has a broken ankle or something,
Its just the angle,
Lemme know what you think,

Lost Ripper,
I liked the style of your Broadside, how is it coming along ?
Clever use of the HH Railguns.
Crafty idea with those Piranha. It carries on the theme of the DF & HH shapes really well. (Bugger, I'm tempted to go and get an other Piranha or two now )
Great work thanks for the inspiration.
