I started building my 1k Tau army about 2 months before my daughter was born. the night before she was born I finished building my second of two hammerheads. about 3 months later I went back and finished up the paint on it. when it was completed I went back and did all the baseing on the models and now have my second ever completly finished army. here are some pics.

nice and clean, good militaristic and Tau style scheme. A solid tabletop force, thanks for sharing and congratulations on your little girl!

Hey jersey, neat and contrasting scheme.

Are you planning to add any squad/vehicle markings, if yes what sept colour you plan to use?

I'd love to see some FW up close. They look really clean and "Tau-ish undamaged". If you know what I mean.

Nice Army, clean job.

Any tips on painting with a baby in tow greatly appreciated, mine was born in November and its all taken a back seat, working 8 hours a day means I come home and take the reigns :-( things can only get better!

Yep, mine was born December so same boat. I've found a hands free way to cradle her and paint at the same time which seems safe enough, only do it when the wife is out shopping though...

My three little ladies are 8,6,and 4 yrs old. So thing are slowly getting better. My oldest is actually keen on painting my veeery old WHF Goblins and actually shows some talent..

However, congrats to your baby girl!

Btw, very TAU-like looking army, crisp and clean. Nice choice of colours as well. Maybe a few more highlights...and it's gonna be perfect.

Cheers

CC

thanks everyone. I never really planned on any squad markings. I just painted the lenses different colors for each squad. as for sept markings, I was thinking orange. but at first my idea behind the army was a night time attack force, and didn't want any bright colors. but now I am thinking of having them as a black-ops team. so I would imagine they wouldn't have markings connecting them with any one particular sept.

I had to give up 40k for about the first 2 1/2 months after my daughter was born. there were a couple of sleepless nights that I painted a couple of figures, but I would not plan on getting a lot of work done. I am just now getting back into it. she goes to bed at a decent hour, so I get an hour or two before my bed time to build some models or paint.

thanks. I painted the grey with just a brush. I used Vallejo Model Colors, they brush on very smooth with just a little water to thin them.

Clean and crisp with a sharp palette. A Tau after my own blue heart.. great work. Looking forward to your cadre as the models diversify some more.
