That's a really impressive model! I'd love to see more of your army.

However, you posted this in the Upper Concourse, which is dedicated to the gaming aspect of the hobby; a more appropriate place would have been the Lower Concourse. I've subsequently moved the thread, but please keep that in mind for the future.

Also, your post lacks basic grammar and punctuation. ATT takes "posting with substance" seriously, and that substance includes appropriate spelling and grammar. Toward that end, please review our Membership Primers.

Fantastic! Your edge higlighting is very well done along the armor and the face; you've given this mini a lot of depth. Additionally those eyes... something about them I can't say what but they just look fantastic.

When you do the Strain leader I would love to see some WIP shots!

Thankyou all sooo much :) i was going to practise playing drums for my band today but comments like this really spur me on, so my band will have to suffer today, and shadow strike, thats means a lot and im going to stop what im doing at the moment and do some work on my strain leader and yes, i will get some work in progress shots of him for you so you can see how it comes together dude.

Very nice. I've always liked the metal Vespid for it's ease of poseability over the newer finecast set.

Really well done, bit more feathering on the lighting effects and pop, top work. The posing is fun too :)

Are you using an iPhone? I recognise the banding effect when I do low light close ups too.

Love the model. I think it would be awesome if there would be a few more purple markings on the chitin here and there (mostly one the back), but maybe that would diminish the lovely blue too much. Have you also tried a light glaze? That would maybe help blend the colours more together. Although I must say you've already done a great job with simply layering (can't see too much detail, but by the looks of it it's mostly layering).

thankyou all so much for the great comments guys,....and yes! it is an iphone haha so yea the banding is very annoying, and i had two lamps inches away from the model an it still looked very dark, i wish oi had a better camera because the highlights don't look as crisp as they do in person.
and yes!! totally agree about the lighting effects,...at the moment they look very basic, i didnt want to over do it to start with because this is my first try at OSL "object source lighting, but when i have done the same thing the whole squad of 6 i will feel a lot more confident and go back and make small improvements to all of it, and yes i was thinking of a glaze because i love the thought of sting wings being slightly purple,....makes them look even more impressive, because stingwings are fairly vulgar,....which i really like :S
i think GW have a purple glaze now, but i have never used them, also i would feel a little scared to try and make my own, unfortunatly i don't have leviathan purple wash or i would have watered that down, also i do like the turquoise,...so i wouldnt want to change that too much,....hmmm,....anyway i have nearly done the strain leader and another stingwing, but i felt like i was starting to go insane painting them through the night, so i started painting my second battle suit, heavily converted of course, sculpted bellowing flames coming from the flamer and a banner on the back,...i also painted the tau longo and a kind of tokyo sunrise type pattern on it too,...so i will be posting that along side my other suit here soon i hope you will all like them :)

Hah - thought so :D (iPhone)

One solution for me was to draw back the two lights on the sides and bring in a light source behind the iphone - but also to put a darker background behind the miniature. Seemed to kill the banding.

Look forward to the rest of your models :)
