I've got to say I love my Tau, they have done well in every battle. I have only had minor losses with them. A couple of them being because the die said the game was over. Today my Cadre and Sept brought honor to their name by purge the world of green skins. Other than that I want to show off my beautiful army.

Hello E'nigma! great collection you have there. Also the conversions you have made are very creative. I've appreciated details as the kneepads for the XV-9, the Shas'O is coming very well; that urban crisis mod I've seen it around and is really convincing. Your color scheme is interesting, although it is a risky one, because if you don't do it right it might seem a bad paint job, and not an aged-battle-experienced aspect you seem to want to communicate, so keep an eye on it. :nice:

I, however wanted to give you an advice (hope you don't mind) :P
try to improve your green-stuff work. If you don't have modelling tools you can serve yourself from tooth sticks and an x-acto blade; a pot of water with some dish-soap, and patience... lots of patience! That's for the future; for the pieces you have done, as I said before I like the creativity of the models, and they in general look really good, but in detail you can see the little defects (finger prints, green-stuff overfilling and so on). Carefully file down some of those, it may take you some time, and for what I can see some of the models are already primed, or even painted, but trust me, if you put a little effort at this point, after you paint them you will be even more proud. ;)

I'll be looking forward for some update on those HQ's you're making... good work!

see ya!

Finally got started on continuing the slow process of finishing my Shas'o Cri'misa Mon'wern'a Rai'nau "Night Strike" and body-guards. I'm taking my time with him since he is going to be the centerpiece of my army and I want him to look good.

Here is a photo that shows more of his cloak:

Your conversion style reminds me of Bionicles, which I was an avid fan of. Don't suppose you're a believer?

I loved them when I was a kid. But after hitting highschool I stopped following them so the new storylines are all convulted to me :P

Yes, not to draw the attention away from our blue-skinned peace lovin' friends, but after the Toa Metru were done, things got ridiculous. :P

Too right, I get lost with the amount of new worlds they invented just because they couldn't think of anything else to do with them.

My Tau are currently on hold while I save money for a nice Forgeworld buy in the late summer and I have currently started working on my true secondary love since Tau Dark Eldar. My main goal is to do a Hellion Gang based list but I also wanted to have a Custom Kabal Trueborn. While I haven't started them, I have used some extra pieces to create Duke Sliscus "The Serpant" and Lady Malys.

The Tau look really good. The only C & C is that on your Custom broadside you should fill down the end of the gun and try and blend it a bit better. by blend I mean make it look like it was built like that. Other than that your tau are really coming along. I would love to see more pics please :)

Time for a big Update. There are a lot of Figures still needing painting/touch up but I have the marjority of the cadre done. I even decided to change my Urban color scheme to a Farsight Enclave.

Cri'misa Cadre:

Shas'O:

Shas'o with Bodyguard and Die Shield Drones (I had forgot all my drone back at home for this game so I proxied them)

WIP Counts as Shadowsun:

WIP Ethereal + Aun Shi:

Crisis Suits:

Out of all my 5 Fire Warrior Squads Yellow Squad has always done work and managed to dish out major damage, while Orange has done squat until yesterday's battle more on that later, and Red squad never making a debut on the field.

Plastic Pathfinders:

Kroot:

Vespid WIP:

Piranha (Drones WIP):

10,000 pts of Tau (My and my friends)+ the Enemies Custom Titan:
Image

Now back to the story about Orange squad. Yesterday my friends and I did a 5000pts battle Tau and Chaos vs Dark Eldar and Chaos. It was a Dawn of War deployment and Annihilation. It ended in a tie but it was a major slugfest and brutal battle with 21 killpoints earned per side. I estimated that we each had less than 1000 points when the game ended with at least 1 troop choice each. I had 2 troops left blue squad and orange squad. Blue did decent for it's debut on the field and the dies showed their fear and lack of combat. Orange squad on the other hand killed 3 reavers by rapid fire, lost 5 to reavers flying over in return. When a squad of 3 Bloodbrides charged orange I had 7, lost 2 to power weapon attacks, and out of 4 regular wounds dealt from the bloodbrides only one died. The remaining 4 swung their rifle finishing the Blood Brides only to loose 2 warriors to Splinter Cannon fired as they dived behind the Hammerhead gunship (It had no Turret so I was using it's Burst cannons as Squad support) So at the end of the game I had 2 survivors to tell the tale. Those two are being promoted to Shas'ui and being given a steal suit.

Image

Slugfest Survivors: 1x Fireknife Crisis Suit Team, 2x 5 men Pathfinder Teams, 1x Hammerhead no Rail Cannon, 2 warriors from Orange Squad and 7 warriors from Blue squad
Image

I had one from yellow squad that survived so many shots to only be brought down by splinter cannon fire. I had 6 wounds to save and this is exactly what I had rolled 6,6,6,2,2,2 If he had survived that he would have been put into a stealth suit as well that has not been painted. heck even put into Shadow's suns stealth suit.

Almost survivor :P

Been a while since I've really done anything with my Tau but currently started my own conversion for Commander Farsight. In my interpretation of the fluff since O'shovah is cut off from the main supply lines he doesn't have a lot of access to spare parts for crisis suits so his enclave would harvest parts from down devil-fish or piranhas and "weld" them into the suits for a little more give and pull. With out further ado here are the start of the great commander.

Wow, that all looks amazing! I exspecially like the ethereal, and what you did to make his blade glint in the light. It gives him a majestic and royal look!

The army is looking good so far, and I especially like the pathfinders and your WIP suit (Why did GW make it Toughness 4?
Most of our custom suits on ATT should be allowed Toughness 5 at least! :::( ).
I think some highlights would up the standard for your troops, however to make the armour panels
stand out a bit more (A lesson I have just recently learnt and am applying on my fire warriors).
Apart from that keep up the good work and I hope to see more soon!

You've done some great conversion work on your army. However, the paintjobs look good on several models, and not so good on others, I suggest you work on them more, but yor conversions are certainly something you can boast about :P

They are from a Jade Hawk from the Mechwarrior tabletop game. Since I don't know of anyone in the local area that plays it and my LGS doesn't sell them I decided to cut him up to use all his parts.

My WIP Shas'el currently in the painting phase. Decided to make him more unique and give him a different paint scheme from the rest of my army to make him more unique.
