I hosted my first Killzone Tournament and first tournament in general a couple weekends ago at my LGS. Besides bad die rolling on my part in the tournament (getting tabled my second), it was pretty fun. The most epic part was when a Fire Warrior held a Warp Spider Exarch in combat for 5 rounds.

Afterwards I looked through my list to see what I could make it more competitive and that was adding in some Kroot of course! Instead of being cheesy and just adding my kroot I already own into the list I decided to custom make my Killzone squad all of kroot and create a story behind them. So far I have 1/4 of the army built and 1/4 in the process of being made.

Pretty awesome conversions.

Reminds me of that one Kroot Crisis Suit conversion I saw on this forum once.

Anyhow, I'll be waiting for the fluff.

I'm looking forward to seeing more on this front too. As it just so happens, I just downloaded the rules for Killzone about 15 min before seeing your thread. Serendipity! :)

I'm really loving those kroot riflemen of yours...
Even given me some nice conversion ideas.

Nice "cut-n-swap" conversions
Looking forward to some more progress.

Really need to take a closer look at Killzone, seems like a Combat 40k meets Necromunda hybrid. Your thoughts E'nigma?

Rules curiosity aside, great kit bashing for the Kroot suits, quite like the belt feed addition :D

This is great! I love the conversion work; specifically the Burst Cannon Suit. What did you use for the little blades on the right arm?

I've personally have never played Necromunda so I can't judge based on that. It's like Kill Teams from 4th edition with two kill teams fighting against each other instead of the team vs grunts. Very Skirmish like.

The blades are from one the of Dark Eldar Wych sprue. I was going to use the burst cannon that came with the Stealthsuit but it really didn't allow for the Kroot head to fit without removing all of his quills from his head.

Amongst a bunch of converting and modelling goodness :D

I really like them! The are absolutely fantastic.

But the Krootox with his personal motivation is... absolutely great and a masterpiece! I laughed so loud, my stomach is hurting!

Consider your killzone idea STOLEN!!!

I really like the ideas you put into modeling here. I can imagine cool things, but can't seem to get my plastic to cooperate.

Your stealth kroot-suits are the best, I think. My current killzone team is mainly steaths, with some crisis and pathfinder support. I think I can do what you've done, with a simple head and torso swap, and some other minor things, right?

Would you mind going over the little details of your burst cannon stealth kroot, the one with the terminator assault cannon?
The tutorial doesn't have to be in depth or anything, all I am asking for is a list of bits I guess.

For the most part. I used Turbo_MMX's idea of a space marine torso piece over a kroot torso.

It's quite a bit of bitz actually :P. Here it is:

Front of the assault cannon from a ravenwing land-speeder. (Probably a regular land speeder would work.)
2x Ammo belt from the same land speeder
Missles from a tactical marine squad
Burst Cannon Hopper
1/2 the barrel of the burst cannon used as the weapon mount
and last but not least the middle section is from a razorwing disentergator cannon I had left over. You could probably use the end half of the burst cannon for similar effect. I just have plans for all of my stealth burst cannons so I didn't use them.

Hopefully this answers your questions. Once I get off work on Tuesday I plan to start painting the squad up when im not playing Portal 2 with my friends.
