Taking a break from my FarSight party today so I made this. This is "Lone-Strike" in his early days of command. Iridium Armor, 2 Shield Drones, CIB, Missile Pod, HW Multi-Tracker, Stimulant Injector, Ejection System. Don't mind the FarSight markings  I'm going to re-paint this and make it look very very beat up. I have some really cool weathering effects I want to try out. The fluff is running rampid in my head....

I am using this make up on a bodyguard for FarSight, minus the ejection system and it's a Shas'vre. So far it has worked very well having 3 models with 2+ armor in the front ;)

Fast question- does the Ejection system, SI take up a hard point? Or is it just wargear? I'm sure Iridium armor takes up a hard point but what about the other stuff listed in the wargear section?

Can anyone think of a name for this set up? Or has one been made? If not I am going to look on Lexicon and come up with something. (keywords) Hard...Strong....Resilient...Crush...Heavy... or maybe some kind of large Tau animal? Like the Rhinos on Earth? hrmmmmm

It is easy to tell what I used to make this lol I'm sure everyone on here has a crazy amount of left over battle suit parts. I lost the only CIB I had so I just used an assault cannon and tossed some stuff on it. Enjoy!

Very nice model! I love the bulk to it and heavy feel it gives as if it would just soak up enemy fire in its stride and just punish everything in its path! For that reason XV8 Juggernaut pattern comes to mind. Might steal that actually :D

The only problem i find, tactically, with this is the D6 assault move on such a bullet magnet :-(

Iridium does not take up a hardpoint.

Okay I thought it did... So anything under wargear is not a hard point?
I know the d6 move is bad but the way I use my FaSight unit... I am going to get pumped full of shots so the 2+ really helped. 10 wounds all on drones with 2+ and I made all the saves hehe!

I ran a setup like this in the game I won in a little tournament I played in last month. The next serries of games I am going to play with use the following build.

Shas'o
Burst Cannon
CIB
HW Multi-tracker
Iridium armor
Stimulate injector
Drone Controller
2 x Shield drones
(debating making the drone controller HW, and putting on a shield)

I ran this setup minus the shield and my commander dominated in both ranged and close combat. Like I have posted before I don't like spending a lot of points on an HQ unit, but with the new secondary objectives, and warlord traits in the game I feel as though I have too. So far, granted only one game with this build, I have been really happy. The shield drones can absorb a lot, and aid in close combat. The CIB with such a high BS almost always guarantees some rending hits and was the bane for some Eldar jetbikes in the game I played. Something to consider, I never failed a wound so I never took a Feel no Pain roll, so that is something I may experiment with dropping it. I worry about not having a invulnerable save, but for now feel as though this can be mitigated with the shield drones. The nerf to power weapons really makes iridium armor a more viable choice. I cant wait to play test this unit more in the future.

Well I got the base colors done and gave the weathered look a try. I took off the CIB to prime and will paint tomorrow, but I did add the Air Burst frag cannon. I should have this done in a few days. I need to clean up the lighting effects. I really want the suit looking beat up...Lone Strike loves to take the fight right into the heart of an enemy force and get down and dirty

This is Commander "Lone-Strike" I really like using this Shas'O set up. Not taking a body guard team did not go that bad at all! I pretty much deep strike him onto the other table side... use the ABFC with about 5 makerlights and pin a "high" threat unit. Now he did get charged...but he tied up a deamon prince for 2 turns =) 2 shield drones Iridium armor and a shield G. works great!
