From the conversions that I've seen, the Coteaz model seems pretty flexible, especially now that it is in Finecast. I'd say a few simple conversions could make it unique (swapping arms and stuff). But if you're looking for something a bit tougher, the Rex model could probably double as a GK Grand Master. Although something tells me the scale might be a little off since Inquisitors might not have the same proportions as a Marine.

Personally, I think a standard power armored Inquisitor would look cooler. I feel like the Red Hunter bodyguard should be a bit more...unique. Can you give each one of the staff weapons you made earlier?

Agreed on Coteaz. I browsed the web and found several renditions of him as another Inquisitor, so perhaps he is the way to go. I can use the Deathwatch components I just received and alter him somewhat to give him the look of an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor or something.

Yeah Rex is unsual, in that his body was supposedly modified, so he looks as hulking as a Marine and his ornate power armor seems very Termie, so perhaps there is room for him as a GK Grand Master stand in or something...or perhaps a done up Deathwatch or Red Hunter Term.

This particular Red Hunter doesn't always act as a bodyguard to the Inquisitor. Since this is probably going to be some sort of radical Inquisitor, who has clearly crossed the Ordos to enlist GKs, Deathwatch and a Red Hunter; he'll not really need the body guard. He's more of a tracker for the group. I based his overall design off of an image I found of a Red Hunter, complete with the knife at his waist.

What I do agree on is that he needs a bit more oomph in the weapon department and I was thinking of going to route of a combi weapon. So do we know of any WIP images that showcase Combi-weapons? I'll have to check TheAmbits thread because I feel he did something like that.

And while the Guardian Spears would do well with the bodyguard mentality, I don't want him to be relegated to that role, and I think I'd like to leave that to my Black Templars; although one GK has taken up the same weapon, but that's moreso related to their past.

So I am open to ideas for Combi-weapons. I gave him the plasma gun just to differentiate him from the bolter-toting Deathwatch and the melee focused GKs. What are the usual range of combi-weapons for Power armor marines?

Alright, so I recently finished off the remaining Deathwatch members I had prepped. Of course the conversion kit finally arrived and the battle brothers have been completed.

I'm still trying to figure out the weapon for my Red Hunter and basically deciding if I want to continue on and make some more Deathwatch marines, as I've got 5 remaining shoulder pads & 7 of their stalker pattern bolters. Only hang up is the helmets...guess I could use SGT helmets with the small light to act as a targeting lens in place of the official Deathwatch helmets.

Well...I suppose that is all, as I am now trying to figure out the Inquisitorial leader for this group. And of course, I am trying to work out something more scenic for these guys, as well as 3 GKs; creating a nice Inquisition diorama or something of that nature.

Its been quite a long time since I've posted within this thread. The Inquisition project is still alive and well. The fantastic thing about my job, is we take the week off between Christmas and New Year's, leaving me PLENTY of time to dedicate to this diorama which I've sadly neglected for a better part of a month.

With the end of the holiday, I thought I'd at least post the latest Deathwatch Marine.

The Techmarine claw was completely scratch built, as can be seen by its rough appearance. I am however rather pleased with the result. The armatures are small sprues widdled into a more square look. The center joint is the arm joint of an XV-8. The tubing comes from the remains of a Thunder Hammer and an unused Flamer for a Dreadnought. The claw comes from a Tachikoma kit I have lying around and the small joint that ties that to the armature is the Black Templars Holy Hand Grenade with the cross removed.

When I took the picture, I didn't wash the armature with Badab...that's actually going to happen the moment this is posted. So thoughts on the overall look?

Coming soon of course will be perhaps some progress shots of the Diorama/Inquisitorial building and the Heavy Bolter turret recently finished.

What remains:
- Finishing the overall diorama with paint
- Finalizing a number of Marines
- Purchasing some Orks

I just figured I would showcase the WIP images of the Diorama I'm working on. The basic design comes from the Gears of War 3 MP map known as Overpass.

I'm at the point now where I'll more than likely be sponging a medium brown and then the sandy color onto the plywood, all the while adding various bitz of debris across the supposed street from the chaotic fighting.

Is it looking like old stone? Its tough to know how well it looks when the columns look great with the various styrofoam pores being somewhat exposed. Its an entirely different animal staring at the solid slabs and wondering if the various layers of paint/drybrushing are doing what I want.

I've got most of the SM figures taken care of. Now all I have to do is go about getting my hands onto some Orks and having them rush the stairs.

I also know its been discussed to death, but I'm open to options on Ork blood color. I'm not looking to create a debate, just thinking about options other than red.

Oh, and I did say I would post an image of the Heavy Bolter Turret, and as an added bonus, a Black Templar Deathwatch marine

Honestly, I can't say much about the street; I need to see it in better lighting. Aside from the remnants of the mould lines on the marine (notably the pistol), he and the turret are looking fantastic! I think plenty of muzzle flashes and such (like the ones from Armorcast) will really make the diorama come to life, especially with effective use of OSL.

OSL? **Nevermind, Kyre was gracious enough to fill me in through PM**

And I haven't done anything with the street yet. Its only got the base coat of dark brown on it when I covered the entire piece. As I said, I'm probably gonna sponge it and make an attempt at something similar to the faux paint you can do on walls.

And I've got several armorcast muzzle flashes. most of them are for large weapons, like the Devastator bolter, or of course the turret there. I had purchased twin bolts for GKs, so I may need to expand on it a bit more and grab some for the Orks. But I think those can wait until I actually get the Orks first.

EDIT:
I just figured I would throw up the banners that a friend created for me on DA. I've added them to the diorama and feel they really do offer up a nice contrast, as well as the foreboding nature of the Inquisition.

Central Banner:
Image
Clearly presenting the Inquisition's mission on this planet. It would seem, that amidst all the chaos of combat, the Orks still take shots at the banner, almost as if they feel that by destroying the 'umie's totem, they'll demoralize them.

Secondary Banners:
Image
Secondary banners that flank what would be the outer enclave to the doors leading into the Inquisition building. For the sake of my sanity, and placement of minis, I do not have a back section showcasing the doors, nor do I have a roof overtop the pillars, like there would be.
