I think I've come up with a good name for the shadow sword, The bane of Typhon. The name refers to zeus' thunderbolts which he used to imprison typhon under Mount etna. Anaklusmos was good but I think it would be more suited to a baneblade or a stormlord, something with as much force as the ocean. Thanks for all the ideas though and let me know what you think :D

Okay, GCSE's are a pain when trying to build an army and going to Naples for four days doesn't help either
(it's great though). I have finally finished the flamer squad so here you go.

With that done it means I have a fully painted 750 point list and just in time for my birthday at the end of the month. The force lines up for parade and more photos :D

I did get a game in with them the other day against orks and that pesky Mr. Thraka. I'm pleased to say that I pulled a draw and had we gone down to victory points he would have lost since he only had 20 gretchin on an objective.

Besides from the must buy superheavy I was thinking a couple of valkyries? Ideas? Thoughts? and most importantly, hope you enjoy :D

I have managed to get my hands on a Shadow Sword and Valkyrie, both already built of course :) I am hoping to build up my valk squadron over time and was thinking of a name someting along the the lines of Harpie or Pegasus squadron. As to my Shadow Sword's name, after saying I wouldn't and much deliberation I have decided to call it Anaklusmos so thank you Kyre. Now, pictures!

Get ready for some pain fool!

That's it for now and I won't be able to do much painting but the Royal Wedding seems like the ideal time :D

Those are looking good so far. Not sure how much work you've put in, but from the pictures, they're at least put together well.

EDIT: And you've been moved to Painting and Artwork. Keep up the good work.

I was curious, did you just dryfit the Valkyrie canopy together or is it actually assembled? If it's assembled I was wondering how you were going to go about painting the model without messing up the clear bits.

Thanks for moving this to painting and art work. Now, about the valkyrie canopy. It is glued on but I have discovered it's actually a lot better to prime things using a paint brush instead of a spray can as you are less likely to miss spots and it gives you better results for an even coat (you'd have to be mad not to spray the Shadow Sword though). It also helps if you have a very, and I mean very, steady hand

I haven't started on the Shadow Sword yet (need to get some primer) but I have been painting the valkyrie and have based my command squad.

I have used a product from Woodland Scenery (They specialize in model railways) and if anyone is interested the product is just called "coal lumps"

let me know what you think of the valk. Trust me when I say it will be a lot grimier and have more color as I am no where near finished. Because I want it to stand out I was thinking of either giving it the aquilla wings, like on the back of the box, or going for a shark mouth and eyes, like on the old WWII planes, any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Don't forget to add some pilot names to the area below the canopy!

When I get my first Valkyrie I'm going to put Strike Witches names there and try and make some female pilots. :crafty:

Sounds... interesting. Didn't even think about putting pilot names on there so thank you. Anyone know any good fluffy human names? I could always go with Armstrong and Miller :) Mind you... the name luke always pops up no matter what

Here's a sneak peak.

More piccies tomorrow but for now "Spoilers" :P

So what do you guys think of my first valkyrie, Harpie 1. Not enough detail? too much...? I could do with some feedback so when I get another it will look even better :) My Shadowsword will take a long time to do, partly because it isn't primed and partly because I'll hopefully be getting some more Tau bits :) Hope you like it!

edit: Silly me, forgot to do a front view :)

Firstly I have primed the Shadowsword, finally :) and secondly I have just finished another leman russ, this time with a demolisher cannon. I expect you're wondering why I've only just primed the super heavy and that's because I'm attending a 1000pt tournament and needed to get this done first. Anyway enough explanations here's a feast for your eyes (more like a brief snack) :)

Now earlier on I said I was originally intending to swap the turrets so I have one tank to support the line and another to flatten stuff from the board edge, so, here we are.

So what do you guys think, I'm always open to suggestions :)

Well I happened to have some spare time on my hands and I use a psyker battle squad in my 1000pt list, 7 psykers and 1 overseer. So, because I was just using unpainted guardsmen as a count as unit I decided I would make my own. I have put these 4 together already out of bits lying around and I would like your opinions on them :)

4 down 3 to go.

Well it's been a little while now and I have another update! No, it's not the shadow sword (I'll finish it eventually) My men now have a commissar to keep them in line. The good news for them is that if he tries to shoot one of them for making fun of his beard, there's a chance he might blow himself up :D Although, by the looks of him he might prefer to decapitate them instead...

Space Pope II, that is great paint work there! Nice touch with the kill markings on the Leman Russ's.

And as for the Shark's teeth on the Valkyrie... AWESOME!!!! :nice: :nice: :nice:

Nice touch with the (ork?) blood on the sword, very heroic and inspiring for the men! ;)

Keep up the great modelling, looking forward to seeing the shadow sword.

Over time much of what I would add has been said. Just wanted to comment on the shoulder unit marking. You don't see it often any more and it looks great on your force, really cool touch. :)

It's actually a power weapon painting technique but I can see why you thought that :P Thanks for the compliments :)

Tael, I'm honored  I'm glad I could brighten your day :) I'm always looking for ways to improve so any constructive criticism will be welcomed.
