Very gothic looking SpaceMarines they should contrast nicely with your green Tau.

The drop-pod looks very monumental, the combination of weathered grey and orange is quite striking.
I wonder if anyone has converted on into a portable shrine which would make a great objective marker.

Good work keep those updates coming.

..You need to be promoted to a Shas'vre, because that is one of the best ideas I've heard in a good while. I may actually do something along those lines if I get my hands on a Drop Pod...

Orpheus Hangar :
Good ideas aren't all that are necessary to be promoted to Shas'Vre. In fact, I rarely think up good ideas on my own. Just the other day, I wanted to see how long I could keep my hand on a stovetop burner... Not a good idea...

Now, you can be Johnny Tremain in the school play! - Ell

regenWald :
I have to agree that these models are very nice. They remind me of fireplaces, with the orange and red representing the flames and the grey corresponding to the soot and ash that invariably gets on everything else around the fireplace. Very nice job with the dramatic highlighting as well, and using the space base to support the Attack Bike.

Keep up the good work!

Ahh, it'd help if you had a few beers first, I think. Now that's a good idea.

I like the gothic style of the chapter - the Dark Angels miniatures are very appealing but I'm not a fan of their colours (well, for painting purposes...more dark green? Lordy...).

Now, I'm off to run with scissors...

Hi.
Thanks for the comments.
Especially to SpartanTau an the comparison with the fireplace (i had no idea and just used the grey, so the unpainted models don't stand out so much).

So, from now on this chapter should be called "The Ember Knights" !

... First i thought "Ember Templars", but this sounds a bit silly.

After finishing Aun'Va one month ago http://www.advancedtautactica.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=13392, i started to paint his counterpart for my space marines.
In my opinion, the model of Grimaldus and especially those poor freaks, that are carrying the holy relics, belong to the best models GW ever made. Those were the first models i bought, after deciding to paint a space marine chapter.
In the pictures you can also see the new razorback with book.

So, take a look at the new models (more at http://ch.fotoalbum.eu/regenWald):

Hi.

Here is a small update on my Space Marine Chapter.
The Penitent Engine is an amazing model, just a bit difficult to put together...

I painted it earlier this year.

Stellar work mate, but given the standard of your Tau I can't say that I'm surprised :)

I've not seem much of that newer variant Marine armour...very nice! I must say that for models I wish that GW released a 40k scale of their old epic spherical drop-pods. Possibly a bit less practical in design but I think they looked so much better!

Wow, I had totally missed this post!
These marines are all painted with a keen eye for detail.
Your choise of colours is exellent. Very smooth techniques on display.
I especially like they way you manage to give surfaces some depth by playing subtly with colour variations.

I am very impressed and newly motivated to step up my game! :)

After more than one year another update for my Space Marines.

A Storm Raven !

This is the biggest model i ever painted and it took me more than three month.
But i am very happy with the result. I am especially proud of the statue/ornament on the air inlet on the top of the flyer. It took me nearly one hour to saw it off from the sanctum imperialis facade !!

The oil stains/scorching on the wings is absolutely remarkable. Also, that Imperial facade fits really well -- good eye for that detail!

Really beautiful models. Your orange highlights are great and seem to be in all of the right places.
