I've got some swords in the works, they are samurai style but I can certainly add sabers and cavarly swords to my to do list. (might be a while though)

I just added the beam guns into inventory.

Hm,

those Beam guns are tempting, I might consider getting some to use on my Sunforges.

Wonderful work paulson, not that I would have expected anything else. ;)

I've been working on some samurai style sashimono banners.

These are the roughs, I'm curious to see what feedback you guys have on the number of ties, or the futuristic style vs historical. Also plain banner material or with detail added to it?

I prefer the ties to the futuristic, less ties to many and top attached to top and bottom.

I prefer the 4th Banner in the 1st pic but I would say plain banner so you could add a decal of your own Cadre.

I like the 3rd banner myself. It would be nice to see a blank one and one with detail. The one with a detail would be nice to have the spot for a sept symbol and underneath it Tau-ish script/writing.

I think my preference runs the "less ties" design.

I do think for customization sake I'd like to see blank banner at the very least, if not some custom sept designs.

Number three and four on the first picture would look cool on an XV8 Commander.

I would prefer them in "blank", but if I understood your facebook post correct, you are going to do various versions of them (blank and detailed).

If you make any that happen to be big enough for walkers on 60mm bases, I have a Contemptor who could use a blank one should you ever produce them! ;)

Here's the more cleaned up versions complete with wind ripples.

I'm going to have all four version printed that way people can choose what they like. I'll have blank version so they can have details painted on or done with decals. Once I have some extra casts I may do a few sets with details added on. These are likely going to be made in metal as the support arms are prettty thin and may not hold up to table use as resin can be kinda fragile.

I'll know more on the resin/metal options once I make a few test pieces in resin to toy around with.

I'm also going to do a larger ogre sized version which will fit models in the 50-70mm range. It'll be the same models just increased in size, simular to my ogre-dachi katana swords. Also speaking of the swords those are going to be reprinted along with the batch of the banners and I'll have sprues of them avialable again shortly. Those will be metal cast for sure as I ran into problems before with such thin parts in resin. It'll also help me keep the costs down and I can probably price sprues of the metal swords at half what I was previously charging for the resin versions.

Additionally since I've gotten quite a few PMs from members unable to reply in this forum you can always leave comments on my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/PaulsonGames I do appreciate all the input :)

If you either extended the flag down a little bit or shortened the post a little that would probably make them a sturdier and able to be cast in resin. I don't know the scale but it looks to me that the weakest point would be right between the base and flag. From all the flag model's I've had experience with, the modern more sturdier ones usually touch the flag to another part of the model in order to use the flag as structure rather than the just the pole. All the old flag models without this additional support always have to be pinned to prevent them from breaking off or excessively bending, even in metal.

Very nice work of late Paulson - the beam guns are mighty fine work and look like they'll slag your day :)

I agree on the metal angle for the banners, and having the wind ripples was a good choice.

Thanks :) I appreciate the feedback

Couldn't sleep so I put together a WIP model for a UFO like thingy with guns. (Lately I've been playing Xcom entirely too much on Steam)

Weapons aren't final but a rough idea of what I'm thinking. Will be around 30mm long.

That is an excellent UFO thingy, it sort of screams out for some variants though. Perhaps something for reconnaisance with some sort of target designation pod and another with a single larger gun for long ranged fire power. Communications arrays, force field generators, really, you could put almost anything on it.

Yep the modification possibilities are almost endless. :D

I'll have a variation of this with an off center cockpit that'll have a single massive beam gun for a long range sniper-ship capacity.

(This is a super rough mock up)

Toying with a couple minor tweaks mostly to the engine configurations, let me know what you guys think. It's still in progress so critique is most welcome and I have thick skin so fire away.

Guns mounted on a flying disk seem unstable to me if they're above or below the disk. I think the more meshed with the disk (lower profile) they have the better. That or maybe a gun above and a gun below. I just imagine it shooting and then spinning around about 400 times if it just has a single top mounted gun.

I mean aliens probably have gyro things to compensate but it messes with the mind of us mere humans to comprehend.

I like the heavier weapon there, but I am thinking that instead of displacing the cockpit to the side, that model should have two cockpits or sensors, one either side of the gun. One would be the control system that the other UFO thingies have, the other an advanced targeting system allowing the big gun to be accurately sighted in on target.

As for the two-gun models, I think the long barreled design is better for the weapons. I alo liked how the rear lift thrusters and the main drive thruster were linked together.

Just as a general note on the style of guns you have been creating lately, that portending between the barrel and the body of the weapon really needs a long barrel with it for best effect. This is why I liked the longer set of guns on the UFO and why I prefer your long barreled beam cannon to the shorter model.
