Beyond the Gates of Antares is a new game masterminded by Rick Priestly (also of GW fame) - it's also rather a kick starter with a difference. You see, at the moment there is no finished game. In line with the values of the game itself (player participation will drive forwards a dynamic universe, influencing the events that happen, and gaining benefits for your faction), Rick and the DarkSpace team want to involve the eventual players in the design of the game itself. Right now, there's a basic set of mechanics, a general feel for what the universe will look like, and an enormous scope for making the game just what the players want! They've got some amazing sculptors and painters on board too, like Kev White of Hasslefree Minis who's busy sculpting the Kickstarter-exclusive miniature for the game (have a look; this piece alone convinced me to back the game).

I could waffle on for ages, but I think the Kickstarter page (link above) does it all far better than I could. I really encourage you to have a look at the game, if for no reason other than curiosity!
