Don't take it the wrong way, we appreciate the effort, but there's one of these around already, tau_munkey made one I think. And I have Army Builder. But thanks, i'm sure some of the guys will really like it! :)

Thanks Joe, appreciate your effort. I am sure some other comments will float in, but yes, we have maybe two of these up already.

For me the Tau list is pretty simple and I can tally up a 1500pt list in my head.

Wait a sec, all army lists are like that...

Of course, I am patient :D

And WANT any criticism you can get out of your blue heads ;) cause I want to improve it if I can.

Inbetween from the BETA release I corrected the error that Devilfish could not be selected for Pathfinders (and it is compulsory!) and also that Weapons/Equipment fields were not resetting to blanks when user changed the Unit.

Planning to correct also the EMP/Photon Grenade thing (as I somehow overlooked that they can be taken simultaneously).

Joe

Actually after you said that everybody was testing it, I decided to give it a try. I liked it a lot, mostly because I was impressed. I have never seen this sort of Excel document before, so I was drooling over it for a while.

It worked perfectly for me, but since I'm completely new at list-making I can't say that I tested every "feature."

Thanks for taking the time to create something that I can use without needing to open a webpage.

Fellow Tau,

I am also planning to add standard Crisis Suit configurations to the Unit dropdown lists. The Table would then fill in Weapons and Equipment for them.

What do you say?

If so, then I would need all configs you know listed here with this format (pls ;) )

NAME - xxx
Weapons - 111, 222, 333, ...
Equipment - aaa, bbb, ccc, ddd, ...

Just copy below and fill in pls:
Code:
[b]NAME[/b] - xxx
[b]Weapons [/b] - 111, 222, 333, ...
[b]Equipment[/b] - aaa, bbb, ccc, ddd, ...

Its looking good although i havent tried all of it out yet. I personally like it because im quite new to 40K and its a good way for me to see the different settings I can use with my army.

Thanks

@ HerrRorgor: my site with the army point calculators for every race is www.alice40k.tripod.com

As for Joe's army builder, all I can say is Wow.
My sheet simply adds the point but yours adds the points and associates each unit with it's wargear! And it all looks very good too.
Missing the entry for XV8 team leader if you didn't already know.
When this is finished give me a call as I would like to add this to the extensive resources of my website, and everyone will be notified that it was your brilliant work.

This combined with Godshead calculator makes for some handy tools. This proves once again how talented our members are.

Hmm, yeah, the drop down menus aren't working on the Mac. I'll boot up in PC mode in a bit and give it another try :D

I'd be interested in having the Forgeworld unit entries added as well. Do you have access to a copy of IA3?

But I guess they could be added.

Version Update:

Eal'ta Release 1.0 is out!

With features that are in this Utility now, consider this to be the release version. Minor features may (and probably also will) change in the future, as well as additional data may be added or possible overlooked bugs removed, but 99% of what is in here, is functional as desired on the beginning.

Changes from BETA3:
Added printing feature via a Button - the Print sheet gets populated from the Army List
Fixed erasing also the Number of Units when User changes Unit
Cosmetic changes to look (italics here, bold there...)
Example of Print output:

Image

To-Do list:
Add additional Units from Taros Campaign and possible other sources (subject to Authors own will and persuasive power of other Users ;) )

Excel 2003 Version (until we find out what the problem with MAC users is...)

Test and comment pls! ;)

I get an out of range error when using the Print button. I'm running Excel 2000 in this case.

thanks again for the hard work.

PS: If this is the final release you may want to update the Beta claim in the intro sheet.
