I just finished a couple models for a local Con, and had a few people asking me if I had posted here. Shame on me, I've only been reading to this point but since I keep getting questions I figured I might as well start posting my army as it is completed. (read this will take a looong time)

So first off, a Piranha I finished 6 months ago for a previous con.

Next my Hammerhead (actually the first model I bought and just finally finished)
Unfinished version

Final version

Comments and suggestions welcome. How can I make these truly awesome?
More to come as I take decent pictures of them.

Is it preferred to show multi views or just the best overall view?

And something I spent about 6 months working on
a Carbon Fiber modified Piranha skimming a lake.
I attempted to get the Venturi (sp?) suction effect but.. it needs work.

If you work with carbon fiber do a LOT of research as it is very dangerous stuff to inhale!

The Hammerhead looks as if it's railgun got the 'Get's Hot' rule and the weapon electrocuted the tank! :P
I second the request for a tutorial! I was slightly disappointed buy Shadowsun, the suit didn't have a very good lightning effect.

I have improved shadowsun since then, Ill play with the lighting and background and retake those pictures.
The tutorial for the tank.... I do have another one that's partially done and painted slightly differently.. Ill try to take WIP photos of it and consider stitching a tutorial.
Note, If I update pictures of something not modified too heavily Ill simply change the original link rather than reposting.

That is possibly one of the best paint jobs I have ever seen, and I love the colour scheme as well as it seems kind of relaxing to me.

The crystals used are just an acrylic. I took a piece of Plexiglas you can buy in rod form and sanded it down to octagonal form. Do this in a well ventilated room.
As you may note I like the special techniques as much as the painting and assembling.
if you guys have any ideas as to a cool effect let me know I may give it a try (though it may take a couple months to develop the fabrication procedure(My baby girl loves to interrupt work in progress))

I also said I would update the shadowsun pictures so here they are.

Thank you for your compliments and remember suggestions are very welcome!

I've heard rumors of completely clear (resin cast a believe) stealth suits, that would complement your Shadowsun well, however, that does mean not painting them...

Hey there atropos907,

I was fortunate enough to see all of these minis in person at the con, And they are truly amazing. Your work with recasting the piranha in Carbon fiber is one of the best effects I have ever seen. The pictures of Shadowsun do not do it justice, in person it looks ten times better :D . Oh and thanks again on informing me of how you did it, I may have to take a page from that book  . I side with everyone about the tutorial...The lightning effect is spectacular and really stood off the table in that Apocalypse match.... Oh and David and I would love to see you in the store sometime... if you can spare the time :)

Great pics and hope to see more
