These look great! I love the Sa'cea/Urban color schemes...

I only have one thought. Personally, I'm a huge fan of weathering, so I have nothing against what you've done on the Devilfish. However, I couldn't help but notice that while the rest of your devilfish looks nice and beat up, the large sept decal on the back door looks pretty much spotless. It kind of sticks out. Perhaps you could add some nicks and scratches to it, or even give it a light dusting over with black or gray?

Hmmm, never thought about that. I'll certainly give it a try one of these days! :)

I think your army looks great and while I prefer my vehicles a little less weather I think yours are really well done, but on the hammer head you have a lot of weathering on the front, but the sensors on the bottom (that little underturret with what looks like a camera eye) is spotless. It makes it look a little out of place. Keep up the great work though!

When I opened this topic I mistook it for my own, your army literally looks almost identical to mine, nice job.

Thanks for the C&C!
I'll certainly add and remove some weathering on my Hammerhead when I get the time.
For this month I'll try to get my third FW squad and another Devilfish glued and painted.
However I don't have much time this month, so I might need to use one of my back-up units (being my Stealth squad or a crisis suit) or I might need to play around with my points a bit

Hello everybody!
I recently became 18 years old, so I got my VISA-card from my bank (finally).
I'm now able to buy stuff, like rare earth magnets, online!
I've been skimming the internet today trying find a site/company which sells 1/8" x 1/16" rare earth magnets and I stumbled on www.miniwargaming.com. My questions to you are:
"Has anybody used this company before and what did you think of their method of delivering (crappy packaging, delivery time,...)?"
"Does anyone know a company located closer to Belgium, because I think miniwargaming is located in Canada, which will mean I'll have to pay more for shipping and the delivery itself will take a long time."

Sorry for these (stupid) questions, but it will be my first time that I buy stuff online.

I've not used that site personally but the site I've used (and is located in the UK) is:

http://e-magnetsuk.com/magnet_products/ ... gnets.aspx

I'm pretty sure they'll have something in the size you're looking for, their prices are good and delivery is quick and cheap! Plus their customer service is good I had a pack of magnets that failed to arrive, I sent them en email with the order number and they just shipped another pack out, no question asked.

thanks for the site! I'll most likely use this one, since it's closer to Belgium :P

Wow, this is a great Sa'cea cadre! Perfect choice of colors - I wished I'd seen this thread sooner.

Funny story, I'd been thinking of having a Sa'cea-themed cadre, urban fighting and everything. Then I saw Children of Men, and found the urban combat units in that movie terrifying - I didn't actually want my cadre fighting through peoples' homes. So they became a vanguard cadre on the periphery of the Empire, almost never fighting in urban settings.

@Shadowblade: http://www.powermagnetstore.com/ is also based in England, and a friend of mine has used them. He is impressed with them.

Shadowblade,

I've moved your topic over to the Painting forum. Would you be willing to have a look through some of the photography guides here and take a set of nice, high-quality detail shots of your models? You seem to be getting a lot of great feedback; I think the next step is to work on improving your photography work. Good luck!

@ eiglepulper: the shop that you have proposed is way cheaper then the one Shas'O'T'Ar'Cha proposed. However because of my eagerness (if that is the correct word) I have already bought 200 magnets from e-magnetsuk, but next time I'll certainly purchase them at powermagnetstore.

@ T0nkaTruckDriver: I'm honoured that my topic has been moved and I will certainly read the photography guides.
This may have to wait, because I'll be setting off to Italy tomorrow and after my trip I've got tons of work to do for school, so it might be that you'll won't be hearing from me for some time.

If I may suggest something, I think that painting your next hammerhead/sky ray in the Dawn of War: Dark Crusade Sa'cea scheme it would look really nice. I am contemplating doing that, but it would require another tank (Although people near me have been buying a lot of flyers from FW so I think that's excuse enough to buy another sky ray)

Hi everybody! It's been a few weeks since I updated this thread, but that's because I've been going from one place to the other, so I hadn't much time to work on my Tau
I've assembled another DF and half of my third FW squad. I've also got a XV89 Crisis Battlesuit that will serve as my commander.
Now, it will be my first time that I'll work with Forgeworld models and I really don't want to mess him up, so if some people could offer some tips for me, that would be awesome :)
cheers
Shadowblade

After writing my previous post I thought by myself that it had been too long since I painted ANYTHING!
So I decided to paint one of my FW:

Looks great! Nice job on the Sept markings too. The gold area needs a little touching up, but great stuff so far!

That's also a very clever little touch with the part number from the sprue on the base in Picture 3. It's the Imperial Helpline number, you know...

Sorry - humour attempt failure

The helmet lenses and the gunsight are well done too.

@ Wolfs16: touched up the gold area :P

@ eiglepulper: haha, good joke... really it made me laugh :D

thanks for the positive comments you both!

Next to that, does somebody have any experience with working with Forgeworld models?
Any tips for gluing / painting are welcome!

Shadowblade

Nice paint job Shadowblade. I really like the lenses. I thought the number is the number of the Tau … than you have to have 39011300 FireWarriors :-?

Shadowblade wrote:

Use some detergent and an old toothbrush or something similar to clean your models. After you have done this, put your model back under water. If you see any bubbles, which will not peel away after you turn the model around, clean it again. If you do not sufficiently clean it, the colour will chip off again, and this is very annoying.
You can roughen the glued joint with a knife, but super glue will do the job. Maybe you have to pin some parts, but that depends on the model :)

So long!
