I'd still change the rifle though. A pistol is no rifle, and it's quite easy to chop off the middle and glue back together :p

Very nice concepts at work here! A little rough on the green stuff, but it's coming along.

Moved to Project Logs.

I suppose I can change the guy's pulse rifle into a pulse pistol if needed, just cut out a chunk of the middle?

Hey guys!
Well I dragged my self away from Call of Duty MW2 just long enough to do some minor GS work and magnetization.

For the XV90 I added some magnets for the hard points, there will be 4 magnets on his back thrusters to mount weapons on, unfortunately this might look odd when he doesn't have any weapons. I ripped off his arms to do some work on them, you may see em tomorrow.

The Stealth chicks have had some armor modeled onto them but I am wondering how to represent their invisibility things. I have stripped the paint off of them.(I don't think I did a good job of that, still some paint here and there).

Now we are talking! Those female stealth suits looks excellent! They remind me of gladiators. They reminded me of an old greek army unit (don't know if its legend or actual history). Anyway, The females of the story would train and fight alone side their spouse. If you are in a battle alongside you husband/wife you will fight all the harder to protect him/here.

Damn, so thats what a good model does. It inspires. Thanks Terminatorinhell!

As for the XV90, its hard to see how the models look. The different colours and and the angle of the photo don't really allow for a good view. I do like the middle pods though. From what I can see on the model, I would bulk up the head a bit.

On the next photo try to get a better shot of the shoulder and arms.

Wow Yami Kero, thanks for the overwhelming praise! The only historical thing like that I can remember may be a legend but shield maidens from vikings, yeah I dunno. As for the Xv90 I of course will stripp all the paint for the pre priming shots. I will keep your request for shoulder shots in mind. I wasn't too sure about the missile pods but now I like it a bit more. Finally for the head, I kinda like the style of it (zaku style??) so it may stay as it is unless I come up with something cooler.

That looks a lot better, and I mean a LOT. Really love it, although, just to be the nitpick (?), I'd say you should also add side armour. They would look naturally thin as a single model, but compared to the stealth suit legs, they look too fragile...
Just my opininion ;)

The Zaku (if you mean the Gundam ones) has a really bulky head! It doesn't even have a neck ;) .

Zaku Head and Zaku Body

See :P

You could go for a sleek unit with missile pod but I think that the bigger the gun, the bigger the suit.

PS: While on the site of the Zaku body I found a picture of the original Gundam. Look at its torso. Its looks a lot like a XV8!

Hey guys
This will my final update of this summer (school tomorrow) but definitely not the last!
I did some arm work on the XV-90 and some head reconstruction and rearming the pilot.

Obviously there is A LOT of work to be done on both models still, especially the paint on the pilot.

Arms are looking great. You might want to bulk up the fingers slightly, though.

Did you GS your commander a breathing mask? Looks good.

Great progress all round.

Thanks, Yami Kero, I am debating whether or not to sculpt large fingers, now I realize that the normal crisis weapons look a bit small...grrrrr :dead:

Hey guys, I just primed the guy so I can see how smooth the GS work is, I suppose it need a bit of work, but its not as bad as I thought. For the arms I am debating on borrowing BlueDestiny's arm idea from his competition entry (Crisis upper leg+ lower half of the arm) and adding the fingers onto that.

Hey guys
Just a verbal update for now, I have begun painting the XV90. He is mainly red with charadon granite accents and possibly white sept markings. The painting came out a bit cleaner than expected but it is still rougher than I want it. Pictures later today. The stealth suits..well two have been primed, the headless one is getting a head. I guess I can start them today too if classes permit. I have also been painting imperial fists ( I can post them to show the differences between my painting of imperials and tau (easier to paint marines, tau are different but I'll get used to it.)

UPDATE:
Okay, I finished painting his body for the most part (the scheme is finished, but i need to put sept markings and touch ups) I am not too happy with the way he came out, I blame the fact that he was stripped and repainted :P. However I think with a little more work he can be bearable to look at.

No insightful thoughts? :-( Not even a "Strip him and start over?"

Ah after a month of hard schoolwork, I finally got a bit more time to work on this guy! I magnetized the arms and added two more magnets over the shoulders. Quick question, should I add the arm mounted weapons to the backs of the arms or under slung? The arms are barely base coated by the way.

Alas, no one has commented. :dead:
Well, after looking at the arms and realizing I hate the lumpiness of them I decided to make housings for them out of plasticard, this was my first serious Plasticard attempt so any tips would help! I frankly think the look much better. (by the way the pictures are from my phone and its 8 megapixel camera.)

Nice! This is really an ingenious project and has a really cool mech feel to it. I would love to see it more dynamically posed, but the use of bits is truly inspired.

While it isn't my personal taste in giant robots, I like the imposing, alien feel it has. Very well done!

Looking at it now I am embarrassed by all the flaws! I either need to touch him up or strip it and repaint it!

I re-did his pose, I might re align the left leg and knee though. But anyways, do you guys think it is a suitably aggressive pose?
