Thought I should add my first FW squad here, even while I don't think they deserve that honor...

Great work here! I love firewarriors but I just wish they were more effective. Here's one squad of mine. Enjoy!

Wow!
Great camo scheme, O'Shatta.
Did you use an air brush for the Devil fish?

Everyone asks that...but there is no airbrush work on this, just the stippling technique from the first Tau codex. No one showed me how to do it, I just followed their directions. Give it a whirl!
First you paint the base color, shade it and highlight it as normal.
Then you take your camo color in this case, scorched brown. Take an old brush and dip it in the paint, removing excess paint. Then remove some the paint on paper towel as you would for drybrushing. Now hold the brush perpendicular to the surface and dapple it in circular motions. Try it out and with practice, you'll become an expert.

O'Shatta Hens,
As always I love your work! Nice display board to boot.
Also, thanks for showing me where I can attach my two Seeker Missiles. I've been scratching my head on this one for a while, Ta. Rus'El

Hey All, Here's some more of my firewarriors that I finished recently. Notice the various knives, packs, grenades and even ropes I've added to these guys. I think it makes them much more fitted out for combat and long campaigns (you always need a knife when you're campaigning for the Tau'Va, right?). Check out my blog for more of my work. Enjoy! Questions and Comments always welcome. I hope to soon get a flip camera and when that happens you'll be seeing much more of my work on youtube.

Hi everyone, I just finished two squads of Firewarriors. For one of them I had a go at making them a bit different so they could be used as Honor Guard. I don't know if I've succeeded, but I tried harder on the lenses than in the past. I also had a go at gemming the chest plates and squad leader scanners. Hope you like them! Honor Guard: Regulars: After taking a look through these photos, I can now clearly see that I need to do a lot more work... ...Black on the rifle barrels. ...another layer of white on the helmets and shoulder pads. ...Washes and highlights on the helmet antennas etc. Nevermind! Grey

Looking great as always. I don't remember you going two-tone on the helmets before, I'll look closer next time

Sweet Shas'la, Greypuffin!
I like the two-tone scheme. I'm not really a fan of white armored Tau but these are well done! The gold is a good choice to offset the cool colors of the models.

Thanks for the comments! Glad you like them. I haven't started on the little things that still need to be done yet - blame that on Star Trek Online...
