Here's a 'vre I concocted dripping with Iridium Armor plating mostly finished along with my first shield drone(done)
I envision this suit being piloted by a career 'vre that will never attain 'el or 'o status due to less tactical acumen on the battlefield and being more like a force of nature. Imagine a salty old warhound of a Tau, larger than average (maybe not tall but wide and strong), heavily scarred and maybe slightly cripple. In difference to his respected Kroot allies and the good natured joking of his fellow Firewarriors he's named his suit "Knarloc" and decorated it accordingly. Just needs to be lined and based. Also equipped with a count as PR or FB for a more custom look. Galeforce 9's basing kits have caught my eye and I think I'm going to use the urban rubble kit for my Tau.

Great 'suit conversion, I like your idea behind it. When you base and highlight the armor it'll look really good. If you feel really ambitious, you could paint a stylised knarloc on his armour!

Wow, your description and conversion really give off that hardcore veteran look.

Looks like a fairly well built conversion, Places you could improve on would have to be the shoulder pads. Maybe a couple of grills similar to those on the thigh armor, or just some kinda of relief added to them. Any chance of of a step by step guide for the custom weapon?

The gun us a fusion blaster for the reciever with a kroot gun reciever as the targeting device on the side. The butt is the back half of a multi-tracker. The barrel is two Devilfish antenna stuck side by side and a piece of flamer barrel stuck to the end. The drum is of course from a burst cannon.

Awesome. Nice quick reply. This deserves to be in the Tau X-Weapon Thread, I'd PM Shas'el Tael if I were you.

Will we be seeing more detail added to the Shoulder Pads? Or are you planning on keeping them simple?

Nice - very heavy looking.

Any chance of some insight into what went into the conversion (the model itself, not the gun) - I'd love to build some of the custom characters I owe a PDF on, and I think a few would be suited to this role.

Ok here's what you need.
1 crisis suit. 1 burst cannon. 2 fusion blasters. 2 'fish antenna. 2 flamers. 2 kroot rifles. 1 multi tracker. 1 target lock. 4 stealth suit shoulder pads. 1 extra crisis arm. 1 'fish rear door deck plate. 1 fusion blaster cone shaped sprue piece. 1 Space marine dreadnought torso.

http://cgi.ebay.com/WARHAMMER-40K-BITS-SPACE-MARINE-DREADNOUGHT-TORSO_W0QQitemZ230346352335QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item35a1b666cf&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A30

Starting with the head. It's the front half of a target lock up front, burst cannon disc around the bottom, little cone shaped fusion blaster sprue piece on the back of the head, Kroot rifle blades on the side of the head for the "tusks".

The shoulders are the dreadnoght torso side plates cut down, the left longer than the right for the Fire warrior look. The right torso is the dreadnought light assembly from below the torso (came with the torso set....it's kinda like a turret ring so to speak.) and below that is a flamer canister. The left side is bit of the 'fish deck plate combined with a flamer canister below it. Down the center is a crisis shoulder cut down a little with two stealth shoulders below that. The middle one is cut, the lower is full sized. The thighs are covers with the dreadnought engine cowlings cut down (they have the exhaust stackes on them originally), and the shins have cut down stealth shoulder pads covering them. The back had the lower halfs of the 'fish antenna attached on each side of the center engine intake. attached to those are two fusion blaster canisters. Thanks for all the c & c everyone. I'll post pics when it's finished. And yes the big flat areas of shoulder are getting decorations for sure.

AndyinUT, very nice conversion and paint job. I really like the chunkiness and mass you've given the suit, it would make a great basis for XV88 conversions.
The big shoulder and thigh pads are a neat way to bulk up the body shape.
Very stylish gun too.
