Many of you may have seen some of my older work. Namely suits using a shadow grey color armor and various others mixed in. Well I have finally decided that I'd start a second section of my forces. The Urban Assault section. It features a multitude of specialist suits equipped much more heavily than their typical brethren. They are designed to fight well on their own and with support of their comrades. Their Shas'O has been nicknamed by the Humans as Barrage for his ability to unleash torrents of fire into the enemy ranks. His Shas'els and Shas'vres reflect his style of warfare and are quite dangerous. So before I bore the folks taking the time to read this... Let us begin!

First off the whole group I have thus far. The Shas'el, the Stealth Team, and the FW Shas'ui. Both the 'el and FW shas'ui are special characters. (once I make the rules for them) These guys represent a small but powerful threat to any enemy not prepared for the amount of firepower they can bring to bear at such speed.
Image

Next up we got the star of the show and the mini that started this all. My yet unnamed Shas'el. (Any ideas would be great) This guy is the conerstone of this force and has more equipment than two or three suits could normally mount. But he only has three weapons. With several test rounds done with him he has already shown that even the best equipped units are only a threat in CC. And even then he can survive and escape to rip them apart with his CIB and PR. He also has a Flamer hidden on his chest.
Image

Next up we have the stealth troops. They are the repainted versions of my old all BC TA team. Now they look much better. And with support against the big guys they'll be set. These guys are accurate and unleash a lot of shots, but have no chance against armor.
Image

And lastly, my old FW shas'ui with out his helmet has not only gotten a face lift, but a new set of armor and a better group of soldiers will soon be on their way. But that will take a bit of time... Maybe tomorrow.
Image
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well with the introductions out of the way, its time to state whats comin up so you can all wonder what it'll look like. Next up we got some yet unpainted drones (some of which are my infamous custom drones), a Pirahna, some Fire Warriors, and maybe another suit soon. Oh and not to mention the Vespid in the new Blister Pack I got. They will probably join their ranks soon.

That all from me for now. And hey, maybe I'll let ya guys in on my next suit, which will be a Shas'vre with a chest mounted weapon. Maybe I'll get two soon? Either way we shall see. Till next time.

While Double posting is generally frowned upon I felt it better to actually do that as I believe that its more wothwhile to show the update on its own. So whats so important to make another post? These guys!

They are done. Well there 5 more FWs on their way, but these fellas are ready to fight for the greater good. The Shas'ui also needs a name now, but first the Shas'el. Well more will be on its way sometime soon. Not sure when. Maybe next week some time.

Looking very nice Firestorm and that camo pattern is really starting to grow on me. Still not sure about it on the XV8, but the firewarriors have enough non-camo bits that the pattern isn't giving the same problem I get looking at the XV8.

Looking forward to seeing more additions as they get done.

Gonna take a bit. I am out of chaos black and don't have the money to buy a new one right now. But yeah I understand why it seems odd. I'll begin adding more non-camo bits to my projects. But its gonna take a bit.

Double posting is fine when it's your own stuff dude. No worries. :)

These look great! I love the camo effect you have achieved. It really adds to the realism!

At last my rifles are complete. And now I'm finishing up my Fluff and rules with these fellas. Kinda nice actually what I figurin. They will be more survivable in close combat but any 'ui will have less attacks. Also they will have an improved equipment range slightly. But till then I just need to finish my carbine squad which will be featuring a paint scheme that will be similar to my pirahna that I will soon build. I will not do that till I finish my Railhead and my kroot. So without further ado I bring you my latest fully painted troop choice.

I like the idea of what your going for with urban camouflage, but I'm not crazy about how it looks on a miniature. Sometimes it's done well and has enough definition to make it look good, but my eyes are struggling to find a focus point for each model and they end up wandering around. Have you considered trying out a simpler scheme with more definition, just to see how it looks in comparison?, I think it would look a lot better.

Actually yes, I have done so with my Carbine Shas'ui. This style will be used more on units that are meant for more open area movement and vehicles. I'll have pics tomorrow if your lucky.

Hope we get lucky, whilst I second Gojira's view I have to say it looks a lot better than what I'd expect from Camo-Tau.

All right Today I have for you folks two things, one is my finished Vespid who while kinda a style of his own, is meant for the Urban Assault Cadre mainly because of close range weaponry and high Init. Also I have my test paint for my Carbine Team. This idea will only be used on units that are meant to be more in the open, and for vehicles of all kinds. This is mainly because they are not meant to blend in as well, just distort their bodies so its a bit harder to hit them.

Thats all for now folks. Till next time!

Alrighty folks, its been a long time since I first started this and now my Urban Assault forces are getting quite the boost. Well Kinda, soon they'll get even more. So onwards then to the pictures.

Image

First up we have the finished Carbine Squad. I did not like the new idea I had for them at all so I went back and did them in the old scheme. The two drones were done to match. Both drones you see do have custom rules now. But I'm keepin those to myself for now. As well as all the other rules for these fellas. This squad has been nicknamed the unfortunates because they rarely survive a game. This is mainly because they generally do some pretty amazing stuff. I've seen them pin Space Marine Tac squads in place, and even cripple a dreadnought. Thusly, my enemies view them as a threat for some reason.

Image

Next up we have an objective marker (The thing that came with the stealth suits) as well as 6 booby traps and a Darkstar Warhead Marker. All these were made using basic Tau bitz and some broken off sprue pieces. Nothing overly fancy.

Image

And Last but certainly not least is the Combat Engineer Shas'ui Spotter armed with a Rail Carbine. This guy is made possible due to special rules for these guys and is quite dangerous in his own right. Also you may have noticed his unusual camo scheme. I decided to go with the Idea of having less camoflauged pieces so the model is not an eyesore to some, and the camo itself is more basic and is done by making various polygons of various shades of grey, much like the camo on Tau vehicles. I painted him in several different pieces. Both arms were seperate as was the head and shoulder pad. Once everything was done he was glued together. What do you guys think of this camo version.

Thats all for now folks. See ya in another week!

I really like your add ons! They really have a nice urban feel and the little mine counters look great! I especially like the missile thing you mentioned; very neat idea.

I think I'm going to copy that Shas'Ui since I really like his gear. Well done!

Thanks Wolf! Let me know if you don't know where I got a certain bit, although most are pretty basic.

Fore those that do now know the Darkstar Warhead is actually a stratgem from the Apoc Reload book. It is a Neutron Warhead that can be quite dangerous. I can also use it as the other warhead which is an EMP version.

The Urban Assault Cadre does not go for subtlety when it comes to booby traps, as you can see by the red markings on the explosives themselves. Red means explosive/assault, Blue anti-infantry, orange is signal gear, grey is defensive gear. (I will make some jammers later that will have grey markings on them) Also the smoke grenade (a cut and reversed photon grenade rack) is marked as such. White is anti-vehicle, but as there is no actual bit for EMP grenades I have yet to decide what to use. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

I quite like the new camo scheme you used on your sapper. It is a lot more subdued and subtle than the original version. On the original camo the highly contrasting camo pattern fights with the details on the mini for attention and unfortunately wins out for the most part. There is none of that on this new 'shades of grey' pattern. Excellent job!

One small suggestion though would be to consider changing your lens colour. It is a little too close to your Sept markings and sometimes that makes it hard to distinguish between the two.

I really like the idea of colour coding your explosives by the way, it is a very nice touch.

Every time I reread my post I keep stumbling over my 'shades of grey' comment. It seems to imply that your scheme is boring or something but rest assured that is not at all what I mean at all.

I know what you mean, its no different than the old ones in actual color combination, but I've done away witht the black on the armor so there is less contrast. I do know what you mean about the lenses though, however I think I'll keep them thus to further seperate them from my other forces. I may experiment with some other colors (like green maybe) in the future. See you guys next update. (Hopefully next Wednesday)

Okay. Been a long time since I posted on ATT. Life, school, and my new marines (which can be seen on my Deviantart for those that can find it) have kept me from getting anything done on my Tau. On the other hand I have a mini that as of yet has never been seen by others outside of my gaming group. So since I have missed out on so many great things this last season, I have at least one thing to add to it.

(Will be added in a bit. Stay tuned!)
