This will be mine greeting topic as well as a way of introducing my cadre. Hello everyone, I hope you enjoy this one. If the pictures probe too big enough, note me, I'll edit the post and make them just links. They're all my works, so there's no problem with author's rights methinks.

Image

The fluff is mainly based upon mine and my friend's armies, cuz Tau are something completaly new for us. Still I want to make them as possible as it is for Tau.

To explain: we all started our 40k experiance with Dawn of War and really loved the idea of Kaurava in the standalone Soulstorm. I was the guy, who was ordered to design our "scene of action", literally a whole solar system which I named Gorov. It's a double sun system with many planets circuling around the suns in "8" shaped orbit coused by chaos incursion. The system was long since cut off couse of a warp storm, but now it is open and poses great threats. As it consists of approximately 8 hive worlds and 6 forgeworlds not to mention other ones, the threat of Tyranids, Orks and Chaos is really bad. The-already-here-chapter of Silver Knights and local Guard regiments were doing fine, but there were no progress. Then the other armies arrived, like my marines, of the Purple Serpents Legion.

Approximately twenty years earlier, by passing the Pardus Rift, my Tau of the Arc'Mein sept arrived in the system. Their primary mission of colonization was then marked as failed and the cadre was branded lost in action. The anomaly threw them much away, right into the war-torn system in segmentum obscurus.

Being heavily outnumbered they went into hiding and started to build devices which would eventually let them jump back into the Damocles Bay.

The Commander in charge, Shas'O'Rava or better known as Commander Snowmane quickly noticed the great loss in resources and started recruiting in the Damocles Fashion, that means from the traitors of Imperial Guard, Basicly from Duranium Salamanders and other of the Duranium regiments that were the first armies to reach the system after the warp storm subsided. After heavy losses in manpower, she sought to bolster her forces. Now, mainly based with Gue'Vesa troopers, Commander Snowmane only needed some peace for her engineers and analysts to find a way to go back to Damocles Bay.
Image

But being unable to leave the planet openly in search for the resources, even with the help of Gue'vesas, they needed some other allies. This was up to the moment that The Infinite Purple Serpents arrived to bolster the bulk of imperial Defences. In a desperate attempt Commander Snowmane reached out to Great Captain Serpus in order to negotiate a treaty.
Image

Serpus realized that it would be really hard to win here with the proud and seperative nature of Silver Knights and his lack of knowledge of the system, so he agreed to give them protection in exchange for them, leaving the system immedietally when they achieve their goal. This was really risky, as he would no doubt be branded as a heretic, but his orders to secure the sector came from higher rank, which was his chapter master. In exchange, the Tau provided all the information of the upcoming Tyranid and Chaos Invasion and let them bolster the defences of forge Worlds and Voldan itself as it became both forces' main base of operations. While Serpents act as the main military protector over their region, the Tau act as a covert ops for them. They are kept in secret from any other forces, even the Duranium Salamanders which are the main Guard Regiment on Voldan Prime.

As for the Commander herself, She is very proud of her Gue'vesa soldiers as they teach her the Imperial Language and she believes that their flexibility is one of the best asset to the forces she can use. As for her past, she was a personal pupil of Commander Farsight (i support the theory that he is long lived due to his posession of the Dawn Blade) and one of his most trusted liutentants. She is a hurdy follower of the Patient Hunter strategy and during her 15-or-so-years incursion in the gorov system, she learned that the patient hunter must also be a really good stealther.

Arc'Mein is an arctic colony based on one of the worlds surrounding the Damocles Bay, which pledged it's allegiance to Farsight's Enclaves at the end of Damocles Crusade.

Image
As for miss Commander, she is still in development, with her figure almost completed and homebrew stats and rules are being written. I decided that I will give her a special exoskeleton devised by Farsight's reverse engineering scientists containing a chunk of the Dawn Blade at it's core. This will give her most of the Crisis' abbilities, but to some limitations.

There are some heroes in making for the fluff, like Knight's Snowblind and Icebreaker, and some other like Cyril Szewczyk, the gue'vesa main advisor and an unnamed Fire warrior with the enigmatic Ar rank which dresses himself in Imperial Fashion and has one Fire Warrior team under him. I'll write about them when more fluff is going to be made for them.

Okay, so my point is, could you please mark my doing? Is the fluff good, or is it bad, what woul you change, what would you left unchanged, what would you add or cut out?

Fluff FTW!!!

Most of my armies exist within their own little-sub sector in the Ghoul Stars and form their own little fluff universe.

While your fluff is original and pretty good. Impreials have what some call xenophobia and would far sooner see a Tau hung up by the battlement than ally with one. Also Tau are not capable of long warp jumps which means they are pretty much restricted to their little empire for now. That is all i really saw that stuck out at me big time. A few spelling and grammar errors but nothing too bad. I look forward to reading more of your stuff.

Okay.

Yeah, I know that their FTL covers only small distances but it's still warp-based, right? And thus I've
chosen the Pardus Rift which is a warp anomaly. I know it's a bit stretched out, but there are many things like that in 40k universe.

For the xenophobia, yeah, I'm aware of it too. But yet there are still Gue'vesas, imperial traitors or those who were born under Tau rule. And also, Ultramarines, the poster boys had a swift truce with Tau when chaos arrived.

It was logical not to start another war with well hidden Tau forces when we had two eldar craftworlds, a big Waagh!!, Chaos advancing and Tyranid invasion inbound and a tomb world discovered. Thats my only explenation for which my Marines cooperate with Tau. It's, for a matter of fact, a oneshot deal. Only the Gue'Vesas which have chosen to live on joined them for good and are mostly deserters.

Yeah, I see the biggest problem is with the FTL jump ^^' Anyways, something more to add?

Shas’El Arc’Mein Kais Mal’Bork

Shas’El Mal’Bork or Knight Snowblind is on of the most trusted lieutenants of Commander Snowmane. He served under her when she was still O’Shovah’s apprentice and was delighted when she chose him to join her new Cadre.

El Mal’Bork hails from Arc’Mein like his Commander, but had a rather more unpleasant starts. When O’Rava quickly gained advancements due to her tactical genious, he was hard working for his position.

His name, Snowblind came from the fact, that during one of his first arctic missions against a Valhallan regiment, he lost his helmet and got an injury to his eyes. Without proper medical attention on the field and with low temperature, his eyes froze, making him blind. First bionic enhancements after his retrieval eliminated this hinderment, but thus he earned his name. Not long after it, he had learnt that the literal translation of his name into Imperial language meant the snowing condition that their archaic screens and monitors displayed after losing their feedback. Thus he used his name to strike fear to the heavily motorized and computerized units of the Imperial Guard stationed on the site as his attacks based on Mont’ka Strategy variant set on utilizing large numbers of EMP Grenades.

After many missions utilizing his great strategy, he was eventually promoted into Shas’O’Rava’s personal guard and then, into her advisor. Utilizing his XV8 Battlesuit, he strikes fear to armoured units and their mechanics. He is also responsible for the recruitment of Cyril Szewczyk as the Gue’Vesa personal advisor to the Commander after arriving in the Gorov System.

Szewczyk and Snowblind have a hate/love relationship. Both saved their lives many times but their unfitting characters makes them hard to work together. For example, Snowblind blames all of Humanity for his criplement which makes Cyril look down on him. He also doesn’t like Snoblinds attitude towards sacrificing Gue’vesas in order for the Tau part of the Cadre to remain intact and tries to both serve the cadre’s cause and his human counterparts.

El’Mal’Bork is friends with Commander Snowmane and rivals with Knight Icebreaker. He holds a grudge against his rival for being posted as research enforcer and not the main security officer.

His most striking characteristic is that he rarely leaves his Battlesuit, almost always wenturing in it inside the Cadre’s hideout.

AUTHOR’S NOTE:

The name was coincidentaly fought to have “Snow” in it in Tau language. In reality, Stronghold Malbork was the capitol of Teutonic Knights of St. Mary's Hospital in Jerusalem Order’s country based upon Polish Lands in age XV. It was the only stronghold that was never conquered by Polish and Lithuania’s Commonwealth but was rather handed over as a peace treaty. I’ve chosen the name Mal’Bork to make homage to this great stronghold which in fact was three castles joined in one. I’ve visited the stronghold once and I was in awe at the very sight of it. It also represents the three main lieutenants of Commander Snowmane, with each one of them, Icebreaker, Snowblind and Cyril being one of the castles.
Here's the infor on the castle from Wikipedia
Malbork/Marienburg
Enjoy

Okay, so a little update on my cadre... This time I'll show an updated footage on commander Snowmane and the creation of her figurine.

Image

The only thing left is giving her her pauldrons which i hope to obtain from my upcoming Tau Battleforce in a week's or so time.

I really love the effect the painting and the snow gave to her... Wonder... I used Only Chainmail and Ultramarines blue original paints to do her armor... the rest ones ar german acrylic paints ^^'

The water effect is supposed to be a power shield and the blops being stopped projectiles. On bigger picture, notice the Ork's skull half covered in snow lying beside her left leg... The snow is curtesy of Unga, my good friend and fellow gamer... and an Ork One XD

------
So primarily I was about to make her also a cape flapping dramatically, but yet, to do so it would be needed to be really long and it would be unhandy for me and my fellow players. So thus I Dropped the idea.

And as a bonus to this update, I'll present you with a picture of one of my Space Marines heroes, Forgefather Octavius

as suggested, I'll deal with those pictures. but dunno how to resize them, so I'll just mąkę them urls. that should do the trick.

Okay, So another double-post but I want to ppdate this thread, SInce the progress on my Army had gone on. Oh, and yes, I know the things about washing white and that some of the models are painted bad. Except for the obvious ones, believe me, in real life, they don't look that bad and only when I watched the photo's they went out so ugly XD

-----------------------------------------------
Cyclic Ion Blaster

http://www.deviantart.com/download/165356716/Cyclic_IonBlaster___Conversion_by_ElMutanto.jpg

I was inspired by the conversions done here, at ATT so I made my own one. It's not perfect, but I still love it. Need to do another one to outfit on of Crisis Shas'Vre's with a twin linked one.

Me as a Tau

http://www.deviantart.com/download/165356959/Tau_ified_El_Mutanto_by_ElMutanto.jpg

There was this idea at my local GW shop, for gamers to build their own model depicting them in their favorite army. As I saw the flood of Terminators, Warbosses and so on, I decided to make a companion for one of the shop-clerk's Kroot guy and so Tau-ified me has broken out as a Pathfinder

Fire Warrior Team Blue

http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/146/0/3/Team_Blue_by_ElMutanto.jpg

Sorry for the bad quality, dunno what happened. Anyways, this is Team blue lead by my favorite FW, the Samurai. I don't have any name for him yet, but that ought to change. He has the bad habit of outliving his team with the two drones at his back.

Earth Caste Engineer

http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/146/1/2/Earth_Caste_Engineer_by_ElMutanto.jpg

Just an Engineer, I maybe do some rules for him, like reparing a damaged vechicle, but not until I finish what I want for my Cadre to have ^^

"Mandarin" APC

http://www.deviantart.com/download/165357562/Mandarin_APC_by_ElMutanto.jpg

Just a typical fish, That I use for my Gue'Vesa pathfinders. I Really love the idea of naming vechicles, and so, Fluff-vise, the Gue'Vesas have the habit of painting those names ( and also giving them) on the mechanical bulks. Mandarin is said to be the sam APC that carried Commander Snowmane on her missions in her Pathfinder days.

Gue'Vesa Auxilliary Pathfinder Team

http://www.deviantart.com/download/165357742/Gue__Vesa_Auxillary_Pathfinders_by_ElMutanto.jpg

I always wanted Gue'Vesas, but the Imperial Armor rule about Imperials having a hated enemy rule against them was just unfair. So they went just as a COunt-as-Pathfinders and I used them with their stats, costs, rules. ETC. And yes, the unobscured faces were supposed to stay black. Also, The two named models are one of my favorites, even if the Commissar Tau is a Fail when it comes to painting ^^' That damned cap! Also, for the gaming spice: They killed Avatar of Khaine in CC only losing one pathfinder beforehand.

Knight Snowblind - Shas'El'Mal'Bork

http://www.deviantart.com/download/165357879/Knight_Snowblind_by_ElMutanto.jpg

Snowblind was described in a post earlier. Used as a normal Shas'El with the exception that I designed some special homebrew rules for him. Nothing really strange... The Antenna was just glued with the green stuff, I will need to repaint that part.

Commander Snowmane - SHas'O'Rava

http://www.deviantart.com/download/165358021/Commander_Snowmane_by_ElMutanto.jpg

So here is the finished model of my commander. I really am proud of her overally. Nothing much to add, as she was described in the post above. For her, I also had some homebrew rules developed.

STEALTHSUITS

http://www.deviantart.com/download/165358124/Stealthsuits_team_by_ElMutanto.jpg

I love this guys. THe Shas'Vre killed off half an IG platoon in Close COmbat without sustaining any damage and he even won a rematch in the afterlife. THen againg, the FW blue team killed stormtroopers in cc. He also managed to disable a Manticora vechicle, so it was worth it.

IPS IIcompany Force Commander

http://www.deviantart.com/download/165357291/IPSIInd_Company_ForceCommander_by_ElMutanto.jpg

A little conversion. He acts as a chapter master with hammer, shield, and Jetpack with artificer armor. Anyways, I just like how it went out. Especially the deamon hand sliced on his base an the blood.

SO that's all for now, Hope you guys like it ^_^

Okay, UPDATE!

Shas'vre Jaeth'Ka

Her name comes from her special rules which I will not post here until I'll make a picture of her model. Enough to say that her weapon is dubbed Ion Rifle and it hits like a sniper rifle, but in line.

Vre'Jaeth'Ka or Veteran Spearstrike is a pupil of Knight Icebreaker which followed him after his great defeat before Blood Angels death Company. She was the Shas'La to rescue him from his failed attempt to cripple the Strike Force of the Space Marines. As a part of his retribution, he was sent to Aid the Arc'mein Third Cadre and Vre'Jaeth'Ka followed him. Here she was outfitted with her trademark Ion Rifle and quickly rose in ranks in the Cadre's Inner Security Force. After joining with the Cadre in Gorov twin system, she started a special police force on Voldan Prime's hidden base.
her personality is said to be as blank as a Drone, as she is Always acompanied by her two drone companions, The Erra Shield Drone and the Ka Gun Drone. She always acts as a Monat specialist on the field of most important battles and carries out most dangerous recon missions. She is known to work closely with Commander Snowmane and Cyryl Schewchyk

Bravo on your Cadre- the modeling, the fluff, the graphics (especially the manga look). Enjoyed your conversion work on Snowmane! Wow, great work! Looking forward to more on your Cadre.

P.S. Great to have another player among "The Freedom Loving Peoples of the Farsight Enclaves!" FREEDOM!!! (think the movie Braveheart) :fear:

P.S. About your spelling and grammar: You damn fine job for an non-english speaker! Don't let the Ethereals here get you down. ;)

I like the Shiny Metallic look on the Helmets of the FWs. Most folks go for a matte finish but you have pulled off the shiny gloss look very well. These figures look like a really polished army who cares about their appearance. I'm sure that the Commander issues orders to all the troops to make sure that their uniforms are in tip top shape for battle.

Yeah, that's true, I like them shiny...

Shiny SHiny... Pretty pretty...

Butto be frank, I didn't do anything like that ^^' For Snowmane's armor I used a special mettalic paint which is not available from one year or so... The Fire Warriors were just painted with Chainmail and ultramarine and covered in Devlan Mud wash... for now, I use Vallejo Varnish Gloss for my models and hell, do they shine now... I must post new pictures as soon as possible.

On the side note, I started a Traitor Guard project to add to my Tau Cadre... Basicly they're just Imperial guard and they will be used as such, but they still have that look of my Tau... and in comparison to the more metallic Fire warriors, the command squad looks like Sailors... Pics coming soon

More on the cadre soon... Now it's just too late hour to write about them.

If the images are too big, give me a shout, I'll change them ^_-

[CLOWNFISH]

Image

Clownfish is said to be the longest serving Hammerhead in the entire Third Cadre. Named by gue'vesa allies, it serves with pride from over five years without any major malfunctions to him. Not really proud of it's rather not serious nickname, the tank commander, Ui'Mont'yr'Myr tries to proove that his gunship is better not be underestimated.

[Author's Notes]
Okay, so this little fella, although not really finished, as I need to apply some varnish to most of his chassis, is my state of the art vechicle... Not a really grand achevement since I only have three vechicles... for like three armies!... Anyways, He's Here. Although he is depicted using an Ion Cannon, I would rather use the Railhead configuration... The rail gun just won't stand still on the turret ^^'

[Knight Icebreaker]

Image

El'Bork'Cova was always a skilled commander but then again, he was considered hot-headed and full of himself. About 995.M41 his enclave, Ol'Ta'La has been struck with an all out imperial invasion conducted mainly by the Blood Angels chapter. He has lead a number of victories against the Chapter and the Imperial Guard not long before his mission to save a Fio science facility "Sheath". The mission was a total fiasco. Giving in to his pride, he ordered his troops to set a trap for the uncoming column of three rhinos and a winged hero of the Blood Angels. His surprise attack was a total disaster, managing only to destroy the rhino's onboard weaponry. The black vechicles spawned their load - the death company, and his army was slain. He fought a valliant duel with Astorath the grim, but his crisis suit was damaged and he crash-landed. Only thanks to his injectors and sheer strong-will did he survived the crash, but yet he needed help from a fellow Fire Warrior survivor, La'Kais, later known as Vre'Jaeth'Ka to get out of the wreck and find their way to the Tau encampment. The enclave managed to evacuate, but the shadow of his defeat followed Icebreaker ever since. As his punishment, he is to atone his doings by helping an another cadre commander in her duties. That commander was O'Rava drom the Snowdwellers Cadre of Arc'Mein.

[A/N]
Okay, I particulary like this model as it was my first Crisis conversion. I love the idea of dual fusion blasters and the "sheild-hat". Also, as he comes from another Cadre, which was based on a jungle-like planet, he retains his old colors as Jaeth'Ka does.

[O'B]

Image

O'B is the name of Arc'Mein Fio's secret development: the Dummy Plug System. The special AI core designed to uphold any information on a detailed subject, being it's current mental state, physical condition etc. was set to reproduce an equivalent of any person in digital form. The first subject was the famed Commander Farsight. O'Shovah, the main "head" on the project ordered the conducting of this technology to ensure the military prowess of the Enclaves: he was just unable to be in all the places he was needed. The first prototype was outfitted with a modified copy of Shovah's crisis suit with a mimicked dawn blade, engineered the same way as O'Rava's armor. But, as it is popular with AI experiments, it went wrong. The personality which was said to be a direct copy of the Commander, was corrupted and it devised a personality of it's own. Drived insane by the thought that it was only a copy, he demolished half of the base. Only O'Rava could calm it down by a simple talk with it, entering its chasis. From now on, the newly Dubbed O'B commands a majority of the "blank" drone squadrons and is deployed on the most daring battlefields to let go of it's anger.

Okay, so the DPS is a thing I was inspired from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion to the way of the tube design on O'B's back. Yet, it is still an AI compartment unit, not something that mimics the pilot in the EVA series. The name states Shepherd, as I wanted to make him a parody of Commander Shepard from Mass Effect. He still needs some stripping and repainting, but this way he looks really battle-worn-out.

and a little present from me, SNowblind in his better colours. I just remade it. Stay frosty for his next incarnation in a xv-9 inspired battlesuit conversion
