I was helping out at a local gaming convention, called Game Summit Skirmish. Over the course of the weekend, I was able to get in some painting during my "down-time". It was nice to get some more work done on them, as I hadn't touched them in some time.

Most of the work I was able to accomplish, was on my tanks. I still need some finishing touches on them before I can get to adding decals and weathering, but I thought that it might be time to show you all my small collection of nearly finished Tau... so I'm more motivated to get them all finished in time for the next Game Summit event.













As you can see, I've still got a lot of work to do... like finish up the weapons for the second Firewarrior squad, so I can finally glue their arms on! My reward for finishing the Firewarriors will be painting my Forge World Broadsides. I still have two more squads of Firewarriors to be painted, and a whole bunch of Crisis suits to customize, but I'm hoping to be able to scrape together the 1850pts needed to play in the tournament. :tongue:

A small update...

I didn't get to play in the tournament, but I got the paint on the second Shas'ui finished. He just needs the antennae on the side of his head, base done and a Sept decal on his shoulder guard.

I'm wondering what you used to create the antenna on the vehicles.

I used guitar string. If you buy the "house brand" at your local music store it's fairly cheap, comes in a variety of thickness's and the wound strings work really well for power cables.

The topper you see in the pics is a small bit of plastruct tube, that was super glued to the tip to prevent any unintentional eye-poking whilst leaning over the table.

If all goes according to plan, he'll become just one of the masses... as Crisis suits go. I've got an XV9 suit for my new Commander, and will be using XV9s for his bodyguard as well.

Wow... it's been awhile since I've posted anything in this thread. Don't you just hate it when the day to day of real life gets in the way?

Anyhoo... I've got my Crisis Commander in XV9 almost ready to paint, as I've still got finish up his plasma-carbine, then construct his hands. Pics to follow.

I'm also prepping seven Crisis suits for leg extensions, new heads, pulse-carbines ( finishing off six, then still one more to construct ) and finally hands. In the mean time, I've gotten two of the new characters cleaned up and primered. Longstrike and Darkstrider will soon be added to the ranks of my cadre.

One last update... I received an e-mail notice last night that my backordered Pathfinders and Riptide are on their way to my local GW store. I've got a really cool idea for an ion gun, but more on that later.
