Hi all. I've been lurking for a while, picking up the tone of the boards and generally enjoying the variety of Tau-related insights and knowledge available.
I thought you might be interested in some pics of my Tau Apocalypse army (currently incomplete - I've got Piranhas and a Rapid Insertion Force to assemble yet!) In terms of colour scheme, I wanted a palette that was both quick to paint and extensible across the full spectrum of units. As you can see, I've gone for green as the primary colour - tones of Catachan Green and Camo Green; flat colour on the smaller models and a Disruptive Pattern Material for vehicles. Highlights were picked out with white and orange, which helps unify all the models from a distance. For O'Shaserra I inverted the scheme, so she's primarily orange with green detail.
The 'titan' is a slightly-modded Kodiak Heavy Gear resin kit (http://www.dp9.com/fusion/KitPages/kodiak.htm.) I can't in any way claim it as a conversion - basically, all I contributed was the addition of an Ion Cannon and Railgun to each arm, a vehicle comms antenna and sensor spines. I've deployed the thing in battle and it gives a pretty good account of itself. If anyone wants to see the data sheet, let me know and I'll post it. (I'm aware that the whole concept of Tau Titans is highly contentious but, bottom line is, it's only a game and I *really* wanted one on the table ;) ) I've got to say, the quality of the cast was excellent - as good as anything from Forgeworld.
Would love to hear any opinions or comments you have...

Welcome, sir!

A very nice choice of paint scheme, and beautifully painted as well. I am impressed with the clean-lined look of your paint, and the green camouflage allows the orange to be eye-catching without becoming an eye-sore.
I would be one of those ATTers who fall into the 'anti-titan' camp, but yours is one of the better looking representations that I have seen. I especially like the head, as it seems to keep with the Tau's style. The shoulders, hips and legs are a little too chunky for my taste, but you did paint the model beautifully.

Overall, I would rank this among the best looking cadres that I have seen. I'd love to see more of it when you get the piranhas and the RIF all built and painted.

Happy hunting...

~O'Suam

Thanks for your comments guys! I agree with your comments O'Suam re: bulkiness. But until an 'official' release becomes available, what ya gonna do? :P If you buy anything from Forgeworld there's a question on the webform along the lines of 'what model would you like to see that Forgeworld doesn't currently make?' I always answer: Tau titan. It'll (probably) never happen though...
My rationale for the existence of a Tau (sub) Titan goes like this:

Throughout its short evolution, the Tau has assimilated considerable knowledge through peaceful or conflict-based contact with alien cultures. In particular, the wars of the Third Sphere have introduced the Tau to giant walkers such as the War Titans of the Imperium, Eldar and Orks. Fire Caste commanders have witnessed first-hand the destructive power of these behemoths, and have lobbied hard for development of their own walker-based heavy weapons platform, as a ground-based complement to the Air Caste’s array of atmospheric aircraft. The Ethereals have conceded to the wishes of the Shas’O and so, using its unparalleled mastery of exoskeletal battlesuit technology, the Tau has begun to develop its own walkers, of which the XZ92-S 'Bullhead' is the first example. It is smaller than the Titans of other races, and is manned by a single Shas’vre.

I love the paint scheme, it is certainly extremely clean, i especially like the way you did shadowsun. The titan is interesting and modeled well, but alas, I am another dissenter of Titans.

p.s. I couldnt help but notice your sound stix, I have them as well in my painting area :D

See i don't think your titan is to chunky. Its a litte bit "gundam-y" or whatever (I don't follow anime so thats the only thing I can think of), but I presonally think it fits an overall Tau theme. And your paint scheme is quite striking too.

I love the scheme, very well done. Personally though, I prefer the AX-1 to any war walker :P

Ooooh, very nice! Green and orange is a striking color scheme, but one that is seldom executed this nicely. Your Shadowsun especially looks great.

Regarding Tau and Titans, I feel Tau are a race that embraces experimentation. And besides that, it looks great!
