Finished painting about half the Tau I own at the moment, so thought I'd post what I got so far, feel free to C&C (and sorry if the post is too big, followed the directions bout photobucket size, but tell if I should post smaller ones) -> standard firewarrior -> FW with pulse rifle -> Kroot, love painting those ^^ -> my XV25 Stealthsuits, wanted to give them some camouflage, well, since they're stealth.. -> XV8 Battlesuit, finished it a month ago, felt wrong, stared at it for some weeks and redid it ^^ -> My commander, same story, not sure if the decorations fit.. -> Devilfish, quite happy about the colourpalette, will be using it for Hammerheads and Skyrays too -> and my gundrones -> Oh, and always wanted to paint an Eldar, so bought one ^^ kinda went colourcrazy, but I like it (and yeah, some flock stuck to his body, got to remove it one of these days) Hope you enjoy, Poco_jr a.k.a. Dwayne

Not thrilled with the eldar, just don't like the colors...as for the rest, I really like the simple clean color scheme. Great job!

I think the tank and Commander definitely steal the show. They look simply awesome. I really, really love the designs on the commander. His pose is awesome too. Then again, the stealths are freakin astounding as well! Heck, it's all GOOD!!!!
Might I suggest HW'ing that multitracker while your at it? Lol just a suggestion...

Thanks for the great reactions, made my day @mearleycf I think I get what you're saying, too many colours right? I'm going to clean him up, make him simpler once I get the time, do think it's a bit much ^^ But well, after some months of painting white and orange, I just wanted to use as many colours as I could on a model :p If ya just don't like the blue/yellow, then srr, that'll prob stay @J'Kaara Nan Will be HW'd ^^ just haven't been able to make a list yet..first I didn't have enough Tau for a decent battle, then I had no time for a decent battle, so no actual battle-experience.. (yeah, boo for me :-o) But that'll change soon, can't wait to use them Anyways, thanks again all Dwayne

Now that I look at it, I think those swirls on the Commander would look brilliant in red. Not saying you need to change it, , but I may try it in the future if thats ok! It really sets the commander apart, like, "hey this is my suit, dude, and I colored on it ma-self".

Wohoo. The camo scheme of the XV25's is awesome this tigermet desert camo is really cool! Seeing a hole team of them on a desert table would be really great in a game.

liking the colors on the fish and the suits...the XV25's imho need a darker color on the soft aror but the camo is an A+...the FWs arent anything special but they have a nice and clean painjob the Kroot however are somewhat out of place...I feel like the whole Cadre is for sans and deserts but the kroot are green, so yeah you see my point great job anyway ^^

you're right, I should do something bout those kroot...can't think of anything except sandier bases though..seeing as they are green by nature (imho, dunnow if I'm not aware of some kroot variations) and they already have brown cloths...perhaps some brown warpaint, how does that sound? Though I'm not sure if it matters..a chittering brown mass of hungry birdies of a green one, bound to get noticed as they charge towards you :p totally right bout the bases though, I'll look into it

Oh, wow, those 25's are great, I actually missed them the first time I went through the pictures. Not kidding. I love the swirls on the commander, and the tank looks excellent.
The eldar looks very nostalgic, look in old GW's and you'll see plenty of schemes like that. A very old eldar scheme, which I have to like for its antiquity, even if that wasn't your intent.

Didn't know indeed, just liked yellow/blue combo ^^ Glad you like it though And again, thanks for the positive feedback to all of you, really gave me a push to keep on painting, next thing'll be a broadside Dwayne Oh, and P.S. @ J'Kaara Nan To come back to that multitracker, took your advice and made it a HW ^^ Bought some green stuff today, first time I use it, cool stuff, won't be the last time I use it Used a spare antenna and then just molded green stuff around it fit the suit. Anyways, the result, pretty happy with it ^^ ->

Nice stuff I like your painting its really accurate and you do your details great! I am not really sold on the caution markers on the crisis suit jetpacks, I dunno seems a little too human to me lol. Your stealth suits look great I never seen them in bright colours before really hehe. Good use of green stuff, I can't even tell what antenna that is and I got everything! Except that floaty Ethereal of course.. lol

The antenna is from a battlesuit sprue, you get a short and a long one to attach to the battlesuit head And well, did the caution marks because without them, I found the suits to be too blank and generic, gave some life to them ^^ And it's always a nice reminder for FW's and such not too stand too close to those jetpack exhausts, figured they'd create quite a blast to get those big suits up in the air, kinda like fighterjet engines, so bad idea to stand too close behind them IMHO, dunnow why only humans should be warning their fellow soldiers

In danger of posting too much myself, I did want to post this one..I saw the marvellous work of Jordtron today in Galleries and wanted to give weathering effects myself, since it just looks so very very nice ^^ So I gave it a shot for the first time. I used a hard brush and used black and scorched brown, and some strokes of boltgun metal afterwards and what I wanted to ask, does it look right? I encourage comments, criticism, don't spare me, cause I want to learn to do it right ^^ and this post with the answers could also be a small tutorial then, I guess Anyways, here are the pics, Dwayne

nice weathering , i find with my models that Foundation paints give a good " weathering " effect on vehicles . using a large flat brush , get abit of paint on it , not too much dab some of the excess off and then brush away over an area and brush continuously until the brush is dry . it gives a good effect to it remember to go in 1 direction to give maximum effect .

Don't know if someone already said this but Kroot have the natural ability to alter their pigment. This allows them to more easily blend in. I'm painting mine like my army, (gave up trying to figure out how they did that green). Anyway great scheme overall. Like the pose for your commander. definetly going to do something like it sometime in the future, maybe. Need to finish what i got first.
