Hi, mates, here I'll show you pics of my first kroots, I hope you like them. I wanted to paint them in an easy way, to save part of my free time (I've been reinforcing my army with 16 kroots and 6 new XV15 shadow armours, and my army is growing very fast ) By the way, you can see a part of my pathfinders squad (still on WIP) saludos!

Hi again! I'm gonna show you some pics of my new XV-15. They aren't quite original, because I took the Idea from Bruno Rizzo Tau Army (I think he has a great idea), so I wanted a stealth suits armours in that way, I hope you like it! there are some blendings wich are a bit hard, I'll mend it soon V__V

Can't believe I missed this thread first time around, very muted scheme with some cool ideas when applying the colours. I like the new Kroot a lot, shows very well how colour choice can simplify the painting process yet produce crisp results. You light sourcing with the blue really comes across well, I can see the inspiration from Bruno's Tau a lot, though I do prefer your cleaner look. Personally, I can't ever see Tau letting their equipment get overly worn, they simply don't ever deploy in the field that long as per their fiction. Anyhow, solid gallery, thanks for posting these! ~ Tael.

very nice work. never had a "best painted" yet in your tournaments? think they'll hit the mark soon. what colours did you use again?
indeed a very simple paintscheme, which is brought on nice and even works every time!

DUDE! Nice work on your commander! I love seeing good Tau conversions, as I like to convert everything (Hey I play Chaos too, so I feel the need to saw, GS and reglue everything)! I love the fact that he is whooping a SM, just like most of the tournament results I've seen lately . I also really like your paint scheme, it is simple and it looks really good! Keep the photos coming, man!

Hi WIELE, I used a Foundation paint colour for the armour, it's called Khemri Brown. I bought 3 ptos, and I mixed each one with a different quantity of white paint, for the highlights

Sabre , I just got to say that your Army is one of my absolute favourites! I think that it's one of the best overall on ATT itself, for not only your excellent conversion work, but your painting skill it tremendous in itself. You, like me seem to edge towards Realism in your painting style, with your weathering and general painting technique. I find it an absolute joy to look at, and like I have done before I will be stealing more of your idea's soon . Keep up with this standard and you will not go wrong in the creation of an excellent example of Tau workmanship.

Sabre : I had to take a break from my Biology research to comment on this. Excellent job on the 'Fish all around! The weathering looks realistic, the cockpit windshield is impeccable, and the tiny scattered details bring it all together. Even before the remaining symbols are painted on, this is a great model. It will be nice to see two of them side by side when you do finish them.
The XV-15s look amazing as well. They make me want to reinstate my old 15s into my second-generation army (I packed them up with my old Fire Warriors when I started changing my color scheme). You've done a great job with the cloaking effect as well, and I really like how each one has a different level of cloaking painted on. It provides a good spectrum of sorts for the visual appeal of the squad, if that makes any sense...
I do need to ask you to either slightly resize some of those more recent pictures to prevent side-scrolling, or you can link to the full-size pictures. Either way, I am looking forward to seeing more of your models! - Shas'Vre SpartanTau

Sabre-
I've been looking for this thread! I have all your pictures saved to my inspiration folder! Your army has been such an inspiration to me. I really like the smooth look of the black and brown. Simple, yet elegant. I am really looking forward to more of your work.
I really love weathering effects, but I'm not sure how to do them best. What advice do you have on painting chips and dirt on armor?

thanks again Mr. Brokensword! I'm a bit angry, because I'm seeing some minor failures in the mini, but the pics are quite big and I can see the mistakes clearly. I'll try to mend it tomorrow and finish the base The Railguns idea was taken from tis magnificient forum, but I can't remember the name of the member who posted the idea. Wolfs16: for painting the damage and filth in the armor, I use two different ways. The first of them is to paint with grease metal, from vallejo some points, and later, apply a clearer colour base in the borders. And the second one, I use 2 different colours for doing the spots, you should put water and mix the colour in the right measure, and then, paint the spots in the way you like. You can use soft pastels, but the quiestion is that you should practise and then use your favourite way (So sorry for my rusted English!! V_V)

Wow anyone else notice that the Stealths, when lined up, they look like they are cloaking/decloaking(like when you have a flip book and they make a progressive scene)? It looks really cool, almost like its the same model in different phases of stealth.
Anyways, amazing army!
