Very nice job! I specially like those kroots!
Interesting scheme on Shadowsun, even while i like the final result, but it's a little weird on a stealthed character...
Anyway, great cadre!

I love these!
The devilfish and piranha have that awesome 1930's art deco blocking pattern, which was absolutely a bold move on your part but that chalky highlighting thing you do (what with working the shapes instead of the lines) works really well with it. Normally I'd assume that you just found a gimmick that works and went with it, but then I saw your kroot with the blending and color variations... Just wow. You're a really good painter and I like your sense of style. I look forward to seeing more!
also, what the hell. that crisis suit has got to win my "most in need of a conversion" award and the free dinner for two at the red lobster that comes with it. Throw boring overboard!

Your color scheme is excellent! The knarloc is particularly memorable, as are the kroot, and the dark, muddy bases compliment the bright tau warriors perfectly. And I love the banana yellow Shadowsun! Instead of using stealth, she just blinds whoever targets her Thanks for sharing these!

I really enjoy observing your painting style and how you apply to the various Tau models, it's different, bold and very effective. The colour selection is a curious one to me, being a fan of bolder contrasts, but you make it work very well and it is a great example of alternative paint techniques. I upgraded you to Shas'la and moved the thread to Galleries last night, only now had the time to add my thoughts. With your member rank you should be able to answer any questions folks bring up. ~ Tael.

Really like them. The Kroot are fantastic, and I love the colour shceme you've chosen for them. I like the bases too - very simple, but completely suited to the little guys! Bravo

Thanks a lot! I am very happy that you like my painting and I am quite excited about the promotion to Shas'La. Here are some comments: Tau color scheme In my imagination my cadre is fighting on a humid planet with lots of vegetation. That's why they have a green camouflage. Considering that the Tau are an alien race, having a different reception of color and shape I tried to use other greens and other patterns than a human army would have chosen. My basic shapes are rectangles that are applied in stripes (Piranha - fast), grids (Devilfish - steady) or free (XV8 - volatile). For other vehicles I would have to invent something similar (I would really like to do a Tigershark or an Orca) Shadowsun While the official suit of Shadowsun has the white color of the T'au sept, which wouldn’t fit to my cadre, I decided to paint her in the color of my cadre's sept, which is yellow. Hopefully later this year I will paint Aun'Va in the same way. (I am really looking forward to do it; it is one of my favorite models.) Shadowsuns stealth system is switched off in the moment (I was afraid to mess up the painting with the stealth. Later I tried to make my XV-25 suits a bit stealthy and I am quite happy with it.) Kroot I got the idea from a group of plague bearers in an old White Dwarf which had all different shades of brown to green, but still looked like one unit. Always when I paint a new group of Kroot (usually 6 - 8) I mix a slightly different skin color. The Knarloc with the brighter body and the darker head and limbs was inspired by the frenchwaaagh.org website. While the Tau need a lot of discipline in painting and highlighting and also in maintaining the exact mixes of color, painting Kroot is always a bit like holiday. Here are a few more pictures I made today. You can find more on http://ch.fotoalbum.eu/regenwaldI will update the gallery, when I finish new models (which can take two or three month) Now I will paint some more terrain. Vehicles: Shadowsun: Battle suits: Kroot:

The 'technical' pattern on the Piranhas is great.. very crisp Seeing your commander in all yellow, and knowing what a difficult colour it is to work with, it's an impressive result. I'd be tempted for some deeper shadow tones to accentuate the armor, but the result you have now is just great. Thank you for taking the time to post your collection, I'm quite taken by your unique brush style for wide-area painting. A couple of months for painting your models? Sounds like me! hahaha.. ( holds up membership card of Snail-pace Painters Union)Still, with results like these, it's always worth that extra time ~ Tael.

Can I get a 'UN-IQUE'?;-) (whoop whoop)
Great work, inspired choice of colours, fits well with an alien type feel and very sharply executed- thankyou for showing off!

regenWald, this has to be the classiest green Tau scheme I've seen in a while. They are all exceptionally well done but the Stealth suits my favourites. The marking on Shadowsun's drones have almost a circuit-board look combined with Tau insiginia. The patterning on the H-head is very effective and all black engine components on the Piranah is something new too.
The yellow markings look good dispite yellow being one of the colours with the worse opacity around.
THanks for sharing and now I'm looking forward to future updates.

What a beautiful cadre you have! Your use of green and teal is absolutely amazing. The yellow is a perfect addition to the scheme as well, I love how you integrated it into Shadowsun's armor. This is probably my favorite green color scheme I've seen on these boards. Well done!

Dear fellow Tau Here are pictures of the newest members of my cadre. First i painted a second Devilfish. It looks more or less like the first one, but still took a lot of time to finish. To increase the excitement a little bit, i worked on the side doors, so it is possible to open and close them. You should also notice the scenery piece underneath the fish, which i finished recently. After doing my duty with the fish, it was time for something really cool. So i decided to paint Aun'Va himself ! In yellow !! I hope you enjoy the result. The new Devilfish. Aun'Va - Master of the undying spirit

Still loving your work man!
Great choice of colours- really add to the 'xenos' feel and the new weathering techniques that you have employed are a great addition!
Also, I like your placements of 'script block' on Aun'va- hate the model, but you have made him coherent with your force. Possibly a bit of damage on the disk base would help to detail it though?
cheers W

I really love your scheme - the colours work so nicely together, simply beautiful! The chipping and all the higlights and accents are executed so great. The Aun'Va, well I never liked the model and especially I do not like GW scheme, but your Aun'Va is the first interpretation I really like. Truly lovely Keep the great work up! I hate beeing student - I wasn't able to paint because we have to hurry now to catch the brodcasting of the soccer game Germany vs. Finnland
