Hey all, So I didn't follow any canon sept paint schemes and I've been painting these guys while lurking around ATT. I've been aiming for a Jade/Black scheme with pale-yellow trim. I'm looking for any advice I can get with these guys. I don't have a sept name or logo (do I need one?) so if anyone has any ideas that'd be great. 'O (I realize only 3 hard-points on a suit, I just figured my CO needed a little something extra) 'El (I meant for the sensor to be a TA, I forgot to check my Codex...) Deathrains w/ Flamers Stealth Team Example FW A Example FW B 'Fish w/ Strike Team The rest of the images can be found here: http://s254.photobucket.com/albums/hh112/FijiWitt09/Tau/Up and coming: Railhead, Broadsides, and Kroot (I'm thinking red-ish for them...thoughts?) Let me know what you think!

Looks good. I like the color combo. On that third pic... did you lose one of your xv8 heads or something? It looks like a witch doctor shrunk the right guy's head

That's a nice and vibrant colour scheme you've got going there. Crisp and clean too. Glad to see I'm not the only person who favours the deathrain with flamer

Hi there Hi T'oturi, your Sept (without name) looks great! I am really exited how your Broadsides and Kroot will look like. The only thing i would change is the DF, imo it's to much black. I'd put more Jade on it. But anyways your Minis look all awesome. Wish i could paint like this.

I would have been badly surprized if, with such a name, you would get some ideas from L5A. You nicely (far better than I did before you) took the Dragon Clan Colors to make them yours. I can onlu bow before your work on the green, smooth, clean, maybe a little bit to "dark" to really be jade-like, but anyway.
I hope you'll show us more of your minis T'oturi-san.

Very nice paint job and love the colour scheme. I think I'll have to have that head of your El' battlesuit for myself

That's a great-looking paint scheme; the clean paint job really makes it pop.
And, I've got to disagree with minamoto; I think the darker paint scheme for the D-fish works if you're representing a scout craft.
Finally, if you want sept name, what's wrong with the T'oturi sept? Could be a new Third Sphere Expansion sept.

Glad to see I'm not the only person who favours the deathrain with flamer Hey Darkseer, I am enjoying the flamer conversions, but I think you need to extend the flamers.... they just aren't threating enough!!! Extend the barrels! On the color scheme, it looks good! But I suggest instead of having a black rim on the base that you paint it brown... there is too much black on the models as it, so adding more isn't good. However having a brown base will make the green "pop" more. Red Kroot!!!! I'm excited now!

T'oturi - I really like the sept colors you've chosen. It's a real crisp and clean paint job too.
Darkseer - You're flamers are awesome!! I love mixing imperial bits with tau ones. Sweet.

You've got a great paint scheme going on there, really like the subtle colours in the stealth suits.

You're right though, it is pretty small...should I change it? El'Myen wrote: I would have been badly surprized if, with such a name, you would get some ideas from L5A. I hope you'll show us more of your minis T'oturi-san. Haha. You're definitely correct in that assumption. I'm going to try some brown rimmed bases and I'll probably go with the "T'oturi Sept." Thanks guys!

Hey All! It's been a while, but I had some downtime between classes today so I thought I'd post up some images of my latest work. I'm a little upset with how my blending gets drowned out in my photos, so I'll probably switch the background and lighting when I get a chance. As always, comments and criticisms welcome! Fireknife 'vre Firestorm 'ui Tank-hunter 'ui Broadside Custom Kroot Shaper (Head-dress and heart in hand) Piranha Also: Here are some naked WiP's. My "Dynamic" 'O and a scratch built stealth suit. More pics available here: http://s254.photobucket.com/albums/hh11 ... itt09/Tau/

lol, wow, I love your color scheme, since it is something I'd think of. Teal/blue-green shades are some of my favorite shades to paint on my figures. I think you did a great job applying the paint, I looks very smooth and not thick.

The long wait was worth it. Your minis really look awesome. The FB flares of the Tank Hunter look incredible. The Kroot colour-scheme turns out great besides your Suits. Keep it up! I want to see more

Hey all. So I've had some downtime at school to get some painting done and I figured I'd share my latest exploits with ATT. As always, comments and criticism are more than welcome! My Shas'O RailHead And here's everything I've got ready to play. Please forgive the background futon, I'm in college. I re-edged all the bases, but I've got to get my kroot's bases edged in brown still.

It's been a long time... I've only got one new model worth showing off. It's my Shas'el Centurion I'm using in a build campaign. He has performed very well. Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

I really like the bold jade coloring, nice clean lines and lenses. I particuarly like the banner and tabard on the new HQ suit. I take by the user name you used to play L5R? As a long time Dragon play and the former Toturi's Army clan champion I fully support such cross overs Which is what I'd been thinking of when I started the theme for my T'goshai sept.

I have to say I really like this.
First, you have a great color scheme. The blue-green compliments the orange spectacularly well.
Second, they're very well painted. Lots of attention to detail, and lots of skill with a brush!
Third, it's very original. I don't think I've seen one quite like this before, though I've certainly seen some that have been close. You've taken the color scheme and made it your own.
The bases are well thought out and subtle, neither distracting from the model nor too bare.
Wonderful army. It'd be a pleasure to game against these!
