Hello friends!
First, I want to say that we in Russia are also playing Warhammer and many fans of tau

looking through your excellent forum, I saw a miniature XV25 of transparent material.
They really liked me and I wanted to have the same squad XV25

This is my W.I.P.

Quite nicely sculpted! Although, I don't see the point in invisible bases.... They look good nevertheless! Can't wait for the weapons!

Wauw,

I'm stunned.
I'm guessing that you made a mould of the XV25 and then used clear resin?

It's perfect for stealth suits actually. Bravo!

I also saw the pictures you are referencing to. But he carved a stealth-suit-like shape from plexiglas if I remember.
Looked more like a sea urchin. :D

hell, guys, I do not understand 60% of what you say, but I hope you will praise me;)
I cast them from a special polymer.

De'terra
You are right. I made a form and pour into it.
No I'm talking about the other photo. there were almost the same costumes. and they were even more transparent than mine.
I plan to make new forms. with parts covered with a glossy varnish. Then the surface will not dull.

Man SirWalrus, I've always dreamt about a stealth-team cast from 100% transparent polymere, and you do it!

How did you make the mould for this guy? I'd love to get my hands on a set of these :P

For forms I use special materiala for making molds.
I have been using our Russian chemistry.
I think you have also no problem to get such material.

I absolutely love them - but I will add a word of caution:

If you cast the forms from the original models from GW, that's a violation of their Intellectual Property rights and can land you in a bit of trouble, though I don't know how that rates going across international lines (not well, I would imagine).

The work is gorgeous though. You may want to look into doing your own custom mold without casting from the original XV-25 and then repeating the process.

If you buy 3 suits, do 3 of these and then throw away the 3 you bought....? You should propably write to GW and ask them before you play with them in a tournament or in you GW store I think. If GW doesnt allow you to do this you could always do like many other and do the suits to that they are "going into stealth" so that some parts are from these models and some from original :)

Really like what you have done :D

Sirwalrus,

Your transparent XV25 suits look very good so far.
I'm looking to seeing them completed.

Here are some Rackham COG Stalkers showings another interesting painting effect for transparent figures.

You should use 'I fully understand English. Especially when they tell me something good.' as your signiture, it is a great line.

Haha, I actually really like that line! I think it's pretty funny! You should totally use it!

As for any legal issue with these suits, ATT has no problem with you posting images of these suits. As long as you don't post that they are for sale or post a step by step on how you made them you should be fine. :)

EDIT: Oh and just another quick note. Back in the day, T0nka once used some clear resin Stealths at a tournament and was told he couldn't play them halfway through a game by the organizers. So maybe it would be a good idea to use then only in friendly games.
