Hello to everyone at ATT.

This is my first post in any kind of forum, I have been lurking here for about 2 years and I finally felt that I had something worthy of posting. I have spent the last few months re-painting my Tau from a Bubonic brown scheme with no highlights to a grey urban camouflage. All the camo markings are freehand and I will post a tutorial if anyone is interested.

My Cadre is supposed to be from the T'au sept, but the white markings disappeared into the camouflage, so I have painted the Sept markings in Tausept Ochre. (Blazing orange on some models, I haven't decided between the two yet) I originally had urban grey bases but found that the bases and the models blended together too much, so I went for a neutral brown as it seems to fit in on most gaming tables. I'm going with the idea that the cadre has been recently re-deployed and haven't yet re-painted their equipment.

I will post more pictures as I complete more units over the next few months. I have over 4,500 points left to paint!

I would like to say that I check this site almost daily and I find it a constant source of inspiration. The quality of modelling and painting here is insane. and I also am relieved to find others on the internet who place a value on spelling.

M'you.

(Edit: Can anyone tell me why M'you shows up as M'you in the post header?)

(Edit 2: Gah! I can't seem to type my username without it being changed!)

Excellent work! That's a very distinct and crisp scheme you've created there and yet it's still quite subtle.

A tutorial would be well received, I think as more people check the thread they'll agree with me :D

Keep up the good work!

Yes a tutorial would be excellent! The scheme is very cool. Did you use the GW line of paint?

Makes me want to stop painting my Tau in the standard color scheme, very nice!

These are beautiful! The conversions and posing are superb, not to mention the excellent urban camo scheme. Can you tell us how you went about achieving this effect? I will soon be painting some Stealth Suits and would love to use a scheme like this.

Those are nice. The overall effect is pretty flat, but that's kinda what you want with camo patterns.

Wow M'you!

This looks really amazing;
I really like the weathering on your Devilfish, its not too heavy or too light it's just right.

Funny; when I was thinking about a color sheme (I had a very similar pattern in my mind) I came to the conclusion too that grey camo with urban style bases would be a boring sight, so I settled with a warm grey as the base color for my army to give contrast. Contrary to me you just changed the bases look. :D Two solutions for the same problem.

I am eager to see more of your excellent work!

I love how the urban scheme turned out, specifically on the XV9 battlesuit. I also support the making of a tutorial. Do you plan on having all the stealth suits in a darker camouflage scheme, or just the Shas'ui?

Stunning work! My first look-through I thought the Tigershark was my favorite. Then the Devilfish caught my eye. But I think the Firewarriors really take the cake, the detail work on them is very well done.

WOW That's one of the best paint jobs I've ever seen!

It's a simple concept, but very very effective, and it shows that you have a lot of skill.

That Fire Warrior Squad is amazing, I dare say it's Golden Daemon stuff.

A Shas'Vre or higher would have to confirm this, but it is most likely an automatic spelling fix for common Internet slang. There are many lazy people out there that tend to spell "you" with the single letter "U" and auto-fix routines try to weed out the most common offenders.

Holy mother of the Tau'va Can I buy your painting skills from you? :P Love the scheme this is pretty much the scheme I wanted to use when I started BUT that did not work out as planned and then slowly found out the only colour I can paint well is red but these models are great and also would like to see how you did your camo due to I want my Hammerhead in a camo pattern But had not found one I liked until now.

My fav of what you posted would be your XV88 since I too decided to run them without the head antenna(sp) for some reason They just did not look right to me But then again I mounted the SMS on their shoulders and well in theroy that could lead to a explosion if a missle hit said head peice and that would well be bad.

Keep up the Fantastic work I can't wait to see more of it :D

I love your subtle, clean conversions.

I am taking the devilfish burst cannon idea.

That is incredible. Excellent paint scheme, and I especially like all the bits you have added - for instance, the targeting array thing on the stealthsuit close-up. (What did you use to make that? Or is it scratchbuilt?)

I would really love to see some more pics of that Kroot. I am working on a similar conversion (shamelessly copied from LordDirk, or course :P ), but am having difficulty getting it to look right. From what I can see, the torso and helmet is fantastic!

I am definitely going to be watching this thread!

EDIT: Any chance of us getting some background for these guys? :crafty:

Maybe for now try using a capital 'U'.

M'U...... see.

Edit: Or use a full stop; M'u.

Amazing, amazing stuff!!! All is brilliant but I have to say that the firewarriors are my favorite.

Can't wait to see more progress on this Cadre. Many thanks for posting.

I'm in absolute agreement. I think all the viewers of this thread would love to see a tutorial. Now if only I could figure out a color scheme for my cadre  .

I'll have to chime in and also say how great this looks.

I particularly like how well it translated to larger models. Both you Devilfish and WIP Tigershark look really stunning. When you have more models together I'd love to see a group shot on some terrain (possibly blowing away some foes?).
