It's been a couple of months since I last worked on any of the Dark Angels 4th Company or attached units so I decided to get back onto schedule again and work toward completing this project.

At the moment on my workbench are a Dreadnought, 25 Tactical Marines, 2 Razorbacks and 5 Terminators along with a Captain who will be getting the Blue treatment again.

This week I worked on a model which I have had sat in a drawer for the last 2 years or so. With a few minor conversions mainly due to missing parts, here is....

Gideons arms are removable and I am waiting for a Venerable dreadnought to be delivered so I can do some weapon swapping as required for future games. This should stop them both looking similar even though they are both from the Black Reach set.

As I got another SM commander in the Black Reach box I decided to revisit my Company Commander and paint a new version.

I don't see why no one comments, theyre pretty well done and this is coming from a guy who hates DA, you could try finding a SM specific site to post on you may get more responses.

It has been a bit quiet, but hey ho

It has been a change from painting Tau although the backlog is starting to pile up so I will have to get back to them soon.

I have just completed another 5 members of the 1st Company (Deathwing). This brings the Deathwing up to a total of 20 Terminators with Master Belial.

On my painting table is a Venerable Dreadnought, which should be done by next weekend, 2 Razorbacks and a Rhino. Keep tuned

Weapon options



From the veteran dreadnought kit I also managed to make the following weapon options for Brother Gideon



I just got the finecast Ethereal so I will be back to my Tau soon

And the next additions are:

The Fine Cast DA Commander and a Chaplain with Jump pack.
These along with the Ethereal on my Gallery topic where completed in 4 evenings of insensive painting. My eyes hurt now

Not a very large update this time.

I managed to complete 2 Razorback turrets, magnetised to swap between Las and heavy bolter. The actual vehicles should be done by next weekend.

You definitely have major talent with these guys. The white looks spectacular! I must say, I'm highly impressed. Keep up the great work!

My constructive critisism would be that the bright red looks really flat on everything and could really use a wash to darken the recesses or a more extreme highlight in the case of armoured panels. The deathwing cream colour is very smooth good job.

Thanks for the advice Theambit, I may revisit the red later. The bone white on the Deathwing came out of a can (Army Painter) so you could say I cheated a little

I have been quiet lately as I have tried the production method and painted 3 Rhinos at the same time. It took 3 weeks and they still need a final weathering with rust effects but I think I can give you all a preview.

All 3 have been fully painted inside and all have been magnetised for conversion into Predators later if I manage to aquire the weapons

The Deathwing needed a bit more muscle and I have always coverted the Chaplain in Termi armour ( I think it is the best looking model in the SM range) so thanks to a good deal on Ebay I managed to get my hands on the Chaplain and a Librarian in termi armour and here they are

I couldn't agree more. I had to get one for my Emperor's Dragoons chapter too. It's my personal favorite! And great paint job on you Chaplain and Librarian!

Not got as far as I hoped with the 2 Landspeeders that are WIP this week - due to the hull gap problems which I am trying to fill but such is life.

I did manage to complete the magnetisation so here are a couple of photos to show where I fitted the magnets (marked with the green/blue circles).

The Typhoon missile boxes get 1 magnet each
the doors 1 each side for the Typhoon (in the small square recess on the door)
1 magnet under the chin and 1 on the chin weapon holder
1 magnet on the weapons triggers in the gunners hands
and finally 1 in the slot for the trigger on the multi melta and heavy bolter

9 magnets in total per speeder

I use 2mm x 1.5mm magnets which seem strong enough.

The Landspeeders are now all complete

This week I managed to complete the 6th Tactical Squad and get another Ravenwing squad ready for undercoating...

For those of you who are following this creation of the 4th Company - you may have noticed I tend to jump from squad to squad with out any thought of order - this is mainly to keep my interest going as painting 60 tactical marines in one go would bore me to tears.

Anyway here are the 6th....
