Really shaping up to be a mean little force. That's somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 points give or take? Great place to start. I have found several people starting out at that point level, give or take. Just something about it makes it very attractive. Keep up the good work for the Greater Good will come in time. ^_^

a great little army what you there have.

But I have one question. The models for their own are nice. But I miss a little the unity of the whole army. Don't understand me wrong, I won't offend you.

Not to speak for the artist himself, I did find the unity. With the exception of the XV88 to the far left, the green used for the armor of the FireWarriors is included as an accent color in the suits. I assumed this was to represent the heavier suits to be better armored and thus needing a different plating. Then again I approach color from a fluff stand point first normally. I however, would love to hear Leigabar's thoughts on the matter though.

Hi and thanks for comments.

You understood my intention perfectly ShaRroos. CBS and XV88 are blue, infantry is green, space fleet red and air force will be graffito/grey(areonautica imperialis for start). XV88 at the far left is one of my oldest Tau that's why it's a bit different (10 years in my service and left over of my original 3,5k army which I've been forced to sell). I'm starting to build things back again. I know that I should have one more XV88 somewhere in boxes (really old guy) which I need to find and make him shine again.

Regards
Leigabar

Wow, you really keep producing some beautiful stuff! I love the ships you've painted and your Tau have a nice, fun look to them. Great work!

This has been moved to Project Logs, keep up the good work!

Hello ATT long time no update here.

Below You can see my Pathfinders/EMP comando. Two of them stil have unpainted bases.
Image
Image

Here are two Shas'Ui. Due to the fact I would like to field 8 comando the only difference betwen them and rest of FW are Bronze markings at PC.
Image
Image

And here are two last guys to paint. I primed all with Uniform Gray (Army painter) and than washed it with GW deep blue (do not know the name now).
Markers are made form markers anthenas and cuted down Wood elfs spears (extentions). Sashes are mades from endings of Wood elfs flags.
No green stuf used ETYCS is what You get from GW boxes.

Hope You will like it.

I see there's quite an improvement in your highlights, the previous models had rather thick highlights and don't seem to be watered enough, especially the green parts on the battlesuits.

If you're patient enough, you could try painting a few different shades of highlights on them instead of big stroke to the edges. I know I wasn't when I first painted mine.

Thank You for apreciation! Truth is that Green highlights are ment to be strong due to my neon / tron Tau conception but I think finally I've learnt how to use wet pallete :D
Time will show if I finally get this :fear:

I'm not entirely happy with rider but at least lizard have been done exactly as I wanted it to look.

Enjoy and feel free to comment and criticize as always.

Wow! - that's a very inspirational colour scheme for the cold one/raptor-riding beast.

Could you shed some light on how you painted it and which colours you used?

Tau'va!

Really liking the lizard's skin tones. What colours were you using there?

OMG I have Tael in my project log! I need to respond!

Trick for reptile is this palette:
Image

1. Prime it with black spray
2. Paint it with watered Valejo Bone White
3. Wash it with gryphone sepia
4. Wash it with nuln oil
5. Paint scales, teeth and claws with Bone white
6. Wash it with sepia
7. Paint teeth and claws with skull white
8. finishing touches such as tong and "jaws inside" eyes were made by mixing scab red with bone white and magic blue with skull white (proportions are my own - mixing until I like the color)
9. Ask Your wife (or other life time partner with better taste than You) several times during painting if she likes it!
10. Enjoy!

Hope it solved the mystery. I just would be slithly more satisfied if I could paint rider better but I will not clean whole miniature because of him.

P.S. - all valejo paints are with me for 6 years now so I'm not sure if consistence and colors are the same as it were new

P.S.2 - I have Wolfs16 and Tael here. Gotta catch You all! :D

Thanks for posting that Leigabar,

I was as equally impressed with the outcome as Tael is, and I am glad to see how it was done.

I think I feel a Tarellian conversion coming on... Maybe a couple brutes to accompany my 'Vre on a diplomatic mission?

Thanks Leigabars, appreciate the detail and list :)

This is dangerous for me, with us both being graphic artists we can easily end up in colour and hue discussion, followed by complimentary themes and then the colour wheel comes out. By the time this is done, I've lost two hours and nothing is painted. :D

Time to keep quiet and paint a lizard of mine own! ;)

- Tael.

Miracles happens! I have found miniature which I believed for over 8 years to be lost forever!

This guy have so many years as whole Tau and is actually my second miniature which I have both and painted from this army!

He is one of 2 survivors of my original 3.5k points army and for sure the most 'Vre. I just refreshed it a bit 15 mins ago!

I'm much younger because of this discovery!

Image

He also binged back memories of 9 XV-88 which I have fielded regularly when I have had played but had problems with motivation to paint!

Believe me or not but I'm really exited of this - this miniature have been in my possession much longer than I know my wife!

While I wait for my order to arrive and unpacking after recent flat changing I have found my younger brother Guardinas which have been given to me years ago to do whatever I wish with them = to paint the basically. Now I have finnally found out how I wish them to look just after an experiment with cold one.

Here they are - 3 of them at least.
