Wolfs16 and Ar'ka, your both correct. The plan was for a scouting party to discover the Land Raider in a manifactorium[sp?] whilst looking for supplies. Still in its primer coat! So its a 'one of the only' in the chapter, and held as a respected relic.

When I do get round to doing so, ill also explain how I do yellow on to black. I saw a thread floating about with some one struggling. With vehicles I'm a little 'cheap' with my yellow technique, but it still looks great in my opinion.

That would be very useful, as yellow on black is notoriously difficult unless/until someone shows you a successful method. ~ E.

Going off a lot of the FW marine vehicle artwork, the rules seem to be a lot looser as far as heraldry on vehicles goes (particularly in the Babab books). With chapters that have dual colour schemes often only using the main colour on their vehicles, just using the secondary colour for badges/numbering or perhaps the odd door or a stripe if that. Also there's a few that seem to have vehicles in the secondary colour, with the primary colour being used for stripes/details.

So rather than painting vehicles to be black and yellow, you could just go for black and have a command transport in the reversed scheme. They'll fit in with the squads they transport or support because they share the main colour and as a whole army you've still got the two main colours represented so it should be instantly recognisable as a Scythes force (the 'convoy' is in the Scythes scheme, if the individual tanks take a few more liberties with it compared to the infantry)

My personal recommendation with regard to Scythe tanks, is to do them mostly black, with some smaller areas picked out in yellow. (doors and hatches are a good option.)

To match the balance of colour on the men, there should be more black than yellow.
(as too much yellow will pull the eyes away from the men towards the tanks when the army is on the table top.)

With a land-raider I would be tempted to have it black with yellow - side doors, sponsons and a yellow assault ramp/door opening at the front - or something like that. But have a think and do whatever you reckon will look best for your own troops.

Tastyfish, your thoughts are good. These stripes could help with Land Speeder's to help identify their squadrons, or number. There are many ways of painting vehicles. And this is some of which. On my guard I tend to use red, blue or white banding on the sides of the tanks. Though this was my old "Ash Waste" colour scheme.

FalcesImperatoris, you hit the nail on the head to a certain point.

My vehicles will utilize the yellow on alternating panels to break up the black. The land raiders doors, Lascannon shields, exhaust shields, and front ramp and upward are all yellow.

Doing this breaks up the black. If your vehicle is just black, its too boring.

Well! Hello! I return. After a few smacks to the side with a rolling pin, and technical drone's help as well as a wallet full of money gone, my PC is back up and running. Which means now I can upload more images.

I have some other projects at hand at the moment. With my Birthday and Christmas rolling up, I have 5 XV-9 Battle suit's on the list!

So here are the last two pictures of Thrasius. As always your comments are very welcome.

The one and only Land Raider the Scythes have to use. Found within an Abandoned Manifactorm, yet to be painted. The scouting party quickly snapped the Land Raider up and Returned it to their Flagship. The Land Raider is covered with Purity seals and Icons. "Mortalitas" or "Death" is one of the Scythes most treasured AFV within its armory.

Note, the Raider does have a full interior paint job, though my pictures are currently hosted else where. I will download them and put them up for display here.
