It's been a while since I messed around with any 3d stuff and got the bug again today so I started tinkering with some more weapon parts.

I'm thinking this would serve as a dual plasma launcher. Any thoughts on the design?

Awesome! I think the tapered ends make it a little goofy looking, though. Like something from "Spore." Maybe if you put cylinders thicker than the original barrel of the ends, that would look cool.

Just a suggestion, if you want to make a weapon with tau plasma technology you will definitely need the 2 protrusions all plasma weapons have.

Maybe the Fio's have a better opinion on the terminology or function of these protrusions.

Their role could be something like power cores storing the energy for the next rapid firing shooting phase??? :?

Other versions of the barrel tips, let me know which you prefer.

Inset muzzles look the best; I was about to suggest that too, prior to reading the latest post.

Instead of a hole, possibly inset a ring? With a lip showing ever so slightly. Should give the idea of covered/reinforced chamber barrel.

Looks great all up.

I have several other parts that have been rolling around in my head for at least a month. Here's some heads I'm tinkering with, I'm planning on roughing out some feet and a jet pack tomorrow.

Those heads look great! the first looks like it would be a "Standard" head for an 'ui, the second looks to be more of a commander type.

The head looks great, I personally think it needs more of a neck to fit on a crisis suit, but it's amazing.

I also really like the plasma gun designs you've come up with and your version of an upper arm. I could really do with some upper arms soon, I hate the standard variant.

Looking forward to seeing more Tau-esque products available on your website :)

Great work on the heads. I wonder what a smoothed out version of each would look like.

I think either of the latter 2 weapon nozzle designs are better than the first.

The heads look pretty sweet, I seee Shas'ui and Team Leader/Shas'vre. Maybe a 2 antenna variant for commanders?

Heads are awesome. I agree with the sentiments on rank thus far posted. First of the two new plasma weapons seems the best. I was thinking of something in the way of a crazy-short silencer on the ends, if that makes any sense, but this works, too. Great work!

Heads look great.

The dual plasma launcher looks too much like a flamer for me. Where is the fuel source? OTOH, perhaps I could run a cable feed from a power source elsewhere on the model.

Started tinkering with a torso, it's still in the rough stage so comments are welcome.

Very nice, it’s always a pleasure to watch someone of your caliber at work! New weapons options are always nice, but head and body options are even better! I am really looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Now if you can just do some legs with a sturdier ankle it would be greatly appreciated. :crafty:

Very interesting torso, of course we'd need a jet pack or ammunition bin to get the full effect . . . hint, hint, hint.

By the way, I am quite stoked about the potential collaboration between you and Palladium Games.

I narrowed the torso down and started adding a backpack. This would be for a heavier ground based version that are being nicknamed "fatboys", I'll also be making a flight capable version equipped with jet pack.

I added some of the weapons I currently have on my site for reference of how it'll look with them equipped.

Lovin' it. Absolutely lovin' it. Tell me, would you be open to designs/concepts?

Feel free to fire away with any suggestions, if you have design ideas or concepts you'd like to see I'm open to taking a look, but I have a ton of the planning table for a while can't promise anything.

I'm a big fan of the weapons you've designed, and of the head, and will probably be buying them when possible.
I quite like the arms too, a much better version to GW.
The torso looks too mecha for my liking, but it may be growing on me.
I'm not really a fan on the jetpack however, it's too far away from what I'd consider a Tau design and the projecting thrusters somewhat confuse me. Just my opinions ofc :)

The protrouding parts are G-tanks not thrusters. Basically gas cylinders used either for cooling the mech, plasma ammo, or engine fuel depending on what animation series is being watched.

This one isn't a full on jet pack, it's a ground based uint, the thruster is only for assiting movement simular to the venier system on gundams to help a mecha move rapidly in combat, not really for leaping or flight. I will be making another version with a much larger full jet pack pack for leaping and sustained flight.
