Those are all kinds and flavours of awesome. I especially like the bulked up legs, because the standard ankles in the XV8s have always looked exceptionally fragile to me, especially considering the size and bulk of the main body.

Just don't make a mess of them when putting the paint on! :P

Those conversions look amazing!

Of course, now, they remind me of the mechs from Armoured Core now....

Must be the extra armour.

Anyhow, keep up the great work!

I'll be honest, I break out in a bit of a cold sweat when I think about painting these guys. I have come up with a basic scheme that I rather like but the prospect of seriously screwing it all up does scare me. I have been taking steps to really up my painting skills as well as figure out how best to simplify the most complicated steps. Usually my biggest fear when ever I start painting figures is the messing up the primer. Bad application of primer can easily cost you the model (I should know, that is how I lost my first two suits in this series). What I do now is use Reaper Brush-On Primer and my air brush to lay down several thin layers. My test models aren't looking to bad however I am still dancing around just getting started.

My grand master, spiritual leader, and writer of exellent tutorials is Ghool and the rest of the team at Hand Cannon Online: http://www.handcannononline.com

I have been using their techniques for a while now and all in all I have noticed a serious improvement in my skills which has helped me expand my conversion business to include painting recently. I strongly suggest everyone check out the tutorial section of their site.

Hey Resv,

Any chance you will get to be able to add to your walk-though ! I am totally interested on how you do the pelvis on the suits. I am getting ready to try some myself and don't want to mess it up !

Thanks man!

Love your work! :D

Really like the work you've done so far, would be interesting to see how you would tackle the other suits, if you're going to convert them that is :P

Yeah I am really sorry about not getting the tutorial together faster. We just recently released our biggest game of the year so far and nobody liked the ending so we are working on stepping up our work on extra stuff for it. It has been pretty busy on my team so it has been a lot of late nights. So I am going to start a new thread with the 1st part of my tutorial right now. I will post the link to the tutorial here as soon as I get it up, which should be shortly.

BAM! Part 1 is up.

Aldarion:
While this thread is indeed interesting and the conversions are top-notch, the last post made in this thread was 362 days ago (nearly 1 year). I'm sure Resv appreciates your encouraging comment, but it adds no useful content to this vacant thread. Please keep in mind the date of the last post before replying to a topic. It's okay to open old threads, but only if there are useful contributions to add. A PM to Resv concerning the project or simple silent admiration would have sufficed.

Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day.
