Post subject: New to the Tau, not to Warhammer though

How did you get into wargaming? Started playing space hulk many years ago
How did you get into Tau? I got back into warhammer once my son started playing, I have a tyranid army but didn't like the lack of finesse. The tau look like they have the finesse I am looking for.
What would be your second piece of advice (after "read the freakin' rules") to a new Tau player? Decide on an enjoyable colour scheme. It takes a long time to create any army and you don't want to decide part way through that you don't like it anymore!

Where and how often do you usually play? haven't played the tau yet, not enough troops but play once a week normally
Do you have any other armies, for 40K or another system? Tyranid army
What is your favourite and least favourite army to play against? most favourite, with tyranids, the orks, least favorite prob the eldar.
What is your best and worst 40K moment? my swarmlord taking down the entire blood angel command usint single handed without losing a single wound! worst, losing wave after wave of termagant & hormagents to imperial armour!
What does/do your family/significant other/friends think about your 'funny toys'? Treated with amusement by my wife and my son loves it!
What are some of you other interests? fishing, walking, computer games
Do you have any pets? one dog, german short-haired pointer / labradore cross called magnus
What is your favourite band? don't really have one. rather eclectic collection of music, ac/dc, madness, rolling stones, blondie, rizzle kicks.
