Loved seeing these guys! As for the colors on the eldar bits my suggestion would be to copy the colors of one of the Eldar players in your area. That way you know
where they got it from.

@ Tael - I've got a soft spot for bird inspired designs, I think it's all in the feathers... Anywho, It sounds like a great idea! I'll keep an eye out for them.

@ O'Ptimus - Glad you like them! It's a good idea for the painting as well, unfortunatly, I'm a gaming recluse who doesn't know any Eldar players. It'll work for the armies some friends collect though, I guess I could get them to throw a couple spare bits my way as well.

Well after managing not to make the most of a long weekend of a nice and peaceful almost-empty house, I haven't made much more progress.

On the plus side, I decided to have a few paint revelations about blending this afternoon. Back when I started I wasn't much of a highlighter, and surprise surprise, I didn't learn anything new not painting for a few years! :) For some reason even after seeing tutorials I just kinda put it to one side as something I wouldn't do, but I think I've seen the error of my ways now.

Anyway, here's some progress on the Kroot Marine. Between "correcting" the heavy drybrush and experimenting with blending, the skin seems a tad too monotone now, but at least it's smoother. I'm happier with it at any rate. The armour has some of the basic colour now as well. To match it in with the Tau scheme I figure he found an Imperial Fist, and the powerfist is going to be closer to blood red before I get to weathering everything.

WOOT Imperial Fists! They are my favorite chapter, without a doubt.

That's a great paintjob! While there are some spots here and there that can use some work, and maybe a few more layers, I think you have a pretty solid model coming. Your thread has inspired me to make some more conversions, thanks! Great job U'mos!

Are you going to be converting all of your Kroot or just a few? Can't wait to see the whole group finished! :D

Thanks N'tol! I'm sure that I'll keep up the scrap look. It's a great creative vent considering I can't seem to have as much fun converting fire warriors. But don't get your hopes up for a painted group shot any time soon, I'm too slow! :P
I have also just realised today that Imperial Fists don't go for the whole "red fist" thing. I could've sworn they did it as well as Crimson Fists, but I guess I should've double-checked. I might leave the fingers or something red now since it's started, but I'll correct most of it to yellow.
